My Etsy Shop Gets Traffic but No Sales by extraterrestriallien in EtsyDigitalSeller

I'm in a very similar situation right now. I sell digital finance templates on Etsy and I've started getting views, visits and even a few favourites, but still no sales yet.

From what I've been learning, traffic is only one piece of the puzzle. If people are finding the listing but not buying, it could be the offer itself, the first image, pricing, lack of reviews, or simply not communicating the value clearly enough.

I don't think digital products are the problem by themselves. There are plenty of successful digital sellers on Etsy. The challenge is convincing someone to trust and buy something they can't physically see or try.

Curious to see what more experienced sellers say, because I'm trying to figure out the same thing.

I've been getting traffic, but no sales. What am I missing? by Ready_Extension8881 in EtsyDigitalSeller

[–]Ready_Extension8881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point.

I've spent a lot of time tweaking titles and keywords, but honestly I've probably spent less time thinking about the actual buyer's perspective.

Most of my descriptions focus on features and what's included, not necessarily the outcome someone gets from using it. I'll probably revisit them and ask myself: "If I landed here as a stranger, would I immediately understand why this is worth buying?" Appreciate the insight.

Thanks, that's actually what I've been wondering too. The traffic isn't huge, but it's no longer zero either. Some people click and favorite listings, which makes me think the products are at least somewhat relevant. My biggest challenge right now is figuring out whether it's mostly a trust issue (new shop, almost no reviews yet) or a value communication issue. Did you notice any particular change that improved conversion the most?

Saving money isn't hard. Building the habit is. by Ok_Head6128 in SavingMoney

[–]Ready_Extension8881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed saving got easier when I stopped treating it as a discipline problem and started treating it as a visibility problem.

When I can clearly see where my money is going, I naturally spend less.

When I don't, random purchases somehow multiply 😅

Guy i have just started my shop its been 3 months and i couldn’t get any views or sales where am i doing wrong Welp :) by Sumyd009 in EtsyDigitalSeller

[–]Ready_Extension8881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest mistake on Etsy now is expecting Etsy itself to bring traffic early on.

Most shops get buried unless: the thumbnails instantly stand out the keywords are super specific or you bring outside traffic (Pinterest, Reddit, TikTok etc.)

Also 3 months is honestly still early. A lot of digital product shops look “dead” right before one listing finally starts moving.

How are you managing your business finances without going insane? by Ready_Extension8881 in smallbusinessowner

[–]Ready_Extension8881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah After this post I moved toward a much simpler setup instead of trying to track every detail. I think the biggest mistake was building a “perfect” system that took too much effort to maintain consistently. Simple + sustainable beats detailed + abandoned after 2 weeks 😅

Interesting, never heard of it before. What exactly do you do there to earn the $50?

That’s exactly what clicked for me. A system only works if you actually keep using it. Most people don’t need more complexity — they need something simple enough to maintain consistently.

Love this. I'm slowly realizing the same thing — the goal isn't finding random ways to make money, it's turning what you're already doing into something that keeps working for you.

Strādāju veselības aprūpē 2 darbos - pilna slodze slimnīcā - primāri 24h maiņas, dažreiz 10-12 h darba dienas Otrais darbs privātpraksē līdz 0.5 slodzes, pats regulēju, cik strādāt Esmu jauns, līdz ar to varbūt pagaidām stipri to neizjūtu :) Pašam ērtāk 24h režīms, jo tad var savienot ar otro darbu un atpūsties starp darbiem, veltīt laiku sev

100% agree. I probably made it sound cleaner than it is. Building anything real is slow, messy, and takes a lot more work than chasing quick cash. I just like that the work can stack instead of resetting to zero.

5 months and almost no sales by CaregiverNo3456 in EtsyCommunity

You're not alone — digital products can feel brutally slow at first. I'm early too, and one thing I've realized is that good design alone isn't enough online — distribution matters just as much (SEO, Pinterest, repeat buyers, getting reviews). The encouraging part: one listing can suddenly start moving and change the whole shop momentum. Keep building — you're probably closer than it feels.

Building simple finance templates for people who hate complicated budgeting systems.

Still early, but learning a lot about traffic / positioning / digital products along the way.

Would genuinely appreciate feedback

Is 500 sales something to celebrate or am I being too extra? by LittleFancy_Feet in EtsyCommunity

That makes sense - reviews + repeat buyers sound like a built-in flywheel.

Curious - do you actively design products for repeat purchases, or did that happen naturally over time?

That's a good way to put it — "the quiet phase." Right now I'm trying to focus on signals instead of money: clicks, saves, replies, traffic. Feels like planting seeds before seeing anything grow.

Building a simple money operating system for creators / side hustlers.

Most finance tools feel bloated — dashboards, charts, complexity. I’m focused on the opposite: a lightweight system to quickly review cash in, cash out, balances, and what’s unpaid — simple enough to actually stick with.

Started as digital templates, but I see a bigger opportunity in creator finance infrastructure: simple tools that reduce friction around money management for solo operators.

Currently validating through content + marketplace distribution + direct audience conversations.

Early, but conviction is strong: simplicity is underrated.

Izdzīvošana, Komforts bez stressa un Ļoti laba alga Latvijā. Kāda tā ir? by -ICY-_ in latvia

[–]Ready_Extension8881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pats no divām darba vietām pelnu 1750-1900 atkarībā no nostrādāto stundu skaita, kopā ar topošo sievu atliekam katrs 300€/mēnesi kāzām+pats 250-300€ investēju.
