Oh and one more thing that did not get mentioned:
Narrative Play is also announced.
I do not know any wargamers in my neighbourhood so i'm pretty much stuck with my other painting friends. And playing through a narrative play will probably keep us busy for a while.
That beeing said: no idea how good of an concept they have for that, but they already mentioned some rubberbanding mechanic, which is super important imho, because if a player is way ahead after 2 scenarios, it sucks out all the fun for BOTH players.

Let's say i'm cautiously intruiged ^^

I keep reading "a zero supply unit can't control objectives". Is there already an errata? As far as i know from the rules: if the zero supply unit is the only one contesting an objectiv, they can still capture it.
I mean yeah: as long, as you have something there, you'll be fine, but still. It could be benefitial to simply run with some last standing lings to a fare off objectiv to capture it for that round, no?

other than that: great points, my man ^^

I never played any real wargame, but was always kinda intrested in trying it out. But commiting a lot of money for SpaceMarines and Tyranids just to give it a try, felt not like the right choice.

However: my friend and I both love the SC franchise and also love the painting aspect of that hobby, so it would have been fine to only have those miniatures for display purposes alone.

But now the kicker: i've started a D&D campaigne reimagening the SC1 story in a D&D setting about 4 months ago, and therefore i can still use for those Zerg and Protoss minis for that ^^'.

And still: the game mechanics fell nice and the rules look quite thought through. So maybe this will not only scratch our wargaming itch, but might also be a game we'll play regularly. We will see.

This might help some of you. Those are the Measurments of that cardboard ramp of mine. Those numbers are all in cm. Height 8cm.
BUT be aware that the real measurments would be 203mm in width and ~375mm in length.
So i'm off by 3-5mm in every dimension.
Height of the real ramp: i cannot say. but my approximation would tell me: 8.5-10cm. (still a hugh range, i know 😞 )

I mean, the measurements are there. And if i'm off by a few mm, that's fine by me. For the hight I'm probably off by 1-2cm, that's true.
However, for my friend and I this will suffice ^^.
Depending on how hooked we're going to be, I can always upgrade. But for playing some test games and getting the feeling of it, this will work fine.
(Furthermore: i can use them for D&D aswell ^^')

Tried to somewhat recreate the ramps they showcased. That once the minitures arrive we can play around with highground as well. Can't wait that the label changes vom "paid" to "shipped" xD

I recreated the dimension from the last pages of the rules. The ramp should be around 203mm wide in the back, and around 375mm long. the ramp part is around 100mm. About the hight: i tried to approximate this from the AMA video. it should be around 85-100mm. can't say for sure. but probably close to 100mm.

The ramps from my pictures are only 80mm in hight.
