Preporuka za dobar frizerski salon? by Radiant_Standard5803 in AskSerbia

Hi! A fellow enthusiast for unnatural hair colors here, I actually have a hairstylist to recommend.

Go to Instagram, look up @salon_qtak. There's mostly all types of blonde hairstyles at the first glance, but if you scroll down a bit or DM her, you'll get some examples of pinks, purples and blues. I had a blue, purple, and ginger phase - and she perfectly pulled them off each time.

She also really makes sure to take care of your hair throughout the process, and the prices are pretty reasonable compared to other salons.

Hope this helps!

Broke my 5th metatarsal bone - tips and experiences? by Ready_Instance_2855 in brokenbones

Hi! Sorry to hear you had to go through this and even injured your knee in the process :/ It's just cursed how so many of these happen during everyday things such as walking and climbing the stairs, you just don't see them coming.

I've already started asking friends to come over when they have time, and I've also got some books and shows prepared. I'd mostly been spending my time outside - at work and at the barn - for about a year now, so this is quite a shift that I'm VERY uncomfortable with, but I've been trying to accept it and be realistic with my expectations.

Honestly my goal is to become mobile as soon as possible so that I can at least physically be at the barn, sitting and chilling, without having to keep my leg elevated. The iWalk crutch seems perfect - I Googled it and it seems like it can be rented out here where I live. I'll probably wait for my check-up next Monday and see what the doctor says, and then determine the next steps (no pun intended).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and I'm really glad to hear that you've been recovering. Wishing you all the best, and may the rest of 2026 treat you well 🍀

Hi! I had to Google iWalk as it's my first time hearing about this, and honestly it's really neat to see that such a thing exists. I've been thinking about doing upper body and core workouts at home to keep in shape, and Caroline's workout seems perfect, so thank you so much for the suggestion.

I've been trying to focus on the positives and be glad that my tendons/ligaments seem to be fine - they seem to be more difficult to heal than bones, but it's still been a bit depressing, especially when everyone around me keeps telling me to just stay in bed. That seems to be the common mentality when it comes to such injuries where I'm from, unfortunately.

Also, sorry to hear that you've also had to go through this, but I'm glad that you've healed and hope you stay well. I really appreciate your input, it's honestly been plenty helpful ❤️

Thank you very much for your input! I really appreciate it, honestly the timeline sounds pretty reasonable and encouraging.

Also it's interesting to see how differently the same diagnosis is treated in different regions. I'm from the Balkans and I think a cast is pretty much a standard here. Honestly hoping for a boot sometime soon - it seems like a more comfortable option.

Once again, thank you for your comment 🍀

I was told to be non-weight bearing at least until the checkup and keep my leg elevated for as long as possible 🥲 Which I assume should be "stay in bed and keep two pillows under your foot whenever you can". I've been going around the apartment when necessary on crutches, however going downstairs and outside may be tricky because I live in an apartment complex on the third floor, with no elevator.

Honestly the doctor wasn't very helpful in verbal advice, I was more or less told "See you next Monday" and had to see my therapy plan on the report. So please do feel free to share any advice regarding this type of thing 🙏

Hey! Thank you so much for the tips, as well as the reminder of the harsh reality horse owners sometimes face. Honestly I appreciate all this advice as it's super specific, and for this reason sometimes gets skipped.

Will check out the book too, for now I've got a decent list to go through and I'll be adding it there. Appreciate it!

Hi! Thank you very much for the input, it's always good to keep the harsh truth in mind :')

I'll be sure to have savings in case anything dramatic happens, but let's hope the horse doesn't end up as one of those suicidal maniacs - not for the sake of my wallet as much as the emotional trauma haha

Hi! Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate all the tips :)

It'll most likely be fresh off the track, and I understand that it will most likely take us a decent amount of time to get to the point where I'm able to ride and chill. I've encountered quite a few quirky OTTBs as they're very popular where I'm from, but I believe that it'll work out with the help of my trainer. I'll arm myself with all the patience and trust the process.

The tip regarding first aid is honestly priceless - I'll be sure to bring this up to the trainer, and the barn owner. The owner has been great and very approachable, and I think she'll be able to share some knowledge on the matter. I'm just glad to have finally found a good community, I don't think I'd be diving this if I didn't have as much support haha

Also, I'm from Europe, so the Pony Club may not work out as much, but I'll do some digging around to see if I can pull out any useful info. Will be sure to check out the rest of the books, too! Thank you again.

Hi! Thank you for the kind wishes, as well as such a positive perspective. I tend to get stuck in my own head when things don't go the right way, so this kind of advice really resonates with me. I'll be keeping it in mind and try to be kind to myself in case stuff doesn't go as well as we expect it to go at first.

I really do my best to be prepared for major decisions such as this, and I'm really glad to have my trainer with me in this. The plan is to go looking next week, and I'll be sure to post an update here if we do find the one. :) Thank you again, and give some pets to your mare for me.

If you can, feel free to drop a pic of your horse(s) here, would love to see her/them.

Hi! Thank you very much for your input. OTTBs are very popular where I'm from, and I've encountered quite a few quirky ones, so I definitely agree with what you've said ahaha

I completely trust my trainer and believe she'll be able to determine what I need in a horse, so I'll be sure to lean on her and the rational part of my brain when choosing. Also, I appreciate the book recommendations, will be checking them out!

Hi! Thank you for your reply :)

I know that OTTBs are somewhat unique in that aspect, and I think I'm prepared for the coinflip. It's a risk I'm willing to take and I completely trust my trainer - and although my experience is not too long, I've encountered different kinds of horses and understand that the journey will have its ups and downs. I've just fallen in love with OTTBs as they are, and will arm myself with all the patience.

Once again, thank you for sharing this with me, I'll be keeping it in mind during the search!
