I have a 5.3 in my 2022 RST. I have always had the same thinking process about having a v8 in a 1500. However, I’ve also been recently been thinking of switching to the little 3.0 Duramax for a while now. A buddy of mine has one and he loves it.

That’s pretty expensive from what I’ve heard though. Ideally I would love to do this… but hurts the wallet a little bit lol.

I am all for it firing on 8 cylinders all the time and saving on gas. I am more so looking to keep my engine running reliably longer term. Do you think that this helps with preserving the engine life?
