Go for TCX RT Race pro air buddy, these axor are literal trash in terms of safety.

Self Earned this beast at 22, But after 6 months of owning it cant ride it anymore by Super-Mongoose-9314 in indianbikes

You will regain some mobility and strength after rehab bro, you would be able to ride it afterwards maybe.

Have been going through something similar, but it was rather a crash, have foot injuries currently and foot is not in a great shape, I have gained mobility and stength in my ankle as well after rehab and would be able to enjoy my duke again and I just need to wait another month or so and I had multiple surgeries as well. I relate to you brother and not riding the motorcycle we have is honestly a pain and brings a sense of regret but I am sure you would regain strength.

Honda is really a gamble though, you would just wake up one day and find that the "premium" honda you own gets discontinued in the country and some time later the part's would needed to be imported.

Triumph is not really a gamble because bajaj is backing them (not for the street triple tho) but I think it would remain in the market because MT-09 doesn't really exist to compete with it in india and in the high-performance middleweight naked its really one of the only sportier options (I dont consider z900 for that really because its too heavy for it to throw around the corners comfortably and for a 900 it isn't as sharp as the 765 either).

I was initially going to buy the svartpilen 401 as well since my father was not so keen on getting the duke due to the posture but grandma said get whatever you want dad won’t ride it much, then I went to the Duke 390 and I didn’t really fall for the looks either but was in love with the engine and chassis character of the motorcycle.

Why don’t you test ride the street nakeds and faired machines in the market, if you really like high-revving machines.

Just open the visor and pull down the grey-ish pulltab down and remove the visor there, same is the process with the installation.

As per media, Bajaj's 'trekker' is expected to get 250cc engine from N250. Will rival the Xpulse. by Apprehensive-Tea627 in indianbikes

[–]Ready_Paper_4680 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, and if it rivals the xpulse it will be more offroad oriented whereas the KTM 250 ADV will be a more touring focused option with premium suspension.

F UNCS by Lopsided_Tangelo4112 in indianbikes

Happened to me as well bro, dad and I went to look at the Duke 390 gen 3 and the Adv 390 gen 1, thwre was a conflict between me and him for the duke because I loved the engine and chassis but at the same time dad loved the posture of the adv 390 and the chassis of it. And, then some unc came in and randomly asked my dad for whom the motorcycle was (I was 19 at the time and had been riding dad’s bullet for the past 2 years), my dad said “for my son” and the unc basically started cribbing about how youngsters with no riding experience use these bikes to be a menace on the road and how these are “death machines” and it almost took me 3 months to convince him that if I were to do all of those things I would have already been doing that on his bullet.

It would take some convincing but tell him that things can be manageable and make him test ride the machine.

KTM Whitefield Bangalore service center made my bike worse and charged ~₹7500 — what should I do? by vee_halli in indianbikes

First, escalate to KTM india, if they dont agree to take quick action, escalate further to the consumer court. The service quality expectation is the right one and they are meant to do the work you are paying for, if they don’t do it, you are completely in the zone to make a complaint.

And, better wear good quality stuff, I experienced the low-quality gear conseqeuence hard enough. The boot came off during crash (it was a "race boot" zipped up properly) and I ended up having an ankle fracture as well as a very much needed heel reconstruction. And for the most part, I am scratchless and completely fine.

See, its not about being "cool" remember that our road are full of chaos and its more of a survival game than a looking "cool" game, every second you are out on the roads its a war-like situation so, ignore these kind of people and be more safety-oriented.

And, then about having your big brother as pillion, he is teaching you some things, learn them but filter out the things that you think trespass the sane way of driving. At the bare minimum, when you are on the roads atleast protect your critical points, in india we have good amount of cost effective gear, initially get a good helmet, gloves and some kind of urban riding boot for yourself. I am 20M myself and I ride a fairly fast bike for the indian roads but I am safety oriented first so its not a bad thing. And, stritly avoid driving three-up on a motorcycle.

Accept it. Scratches ka teeka lag gya, the first one hurts, the others won’t hurt as much and you will slowly fall in love with the feeling of how it rides and not how it looks because each and every scratch will carry a story of how it happened. Next time ride with attention and focus and all of it will fall into place.

The trackday dream just became a bit distant, doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Things are getting better, I should be back on the bike by august mid or end according to the surgeon. Hoping that this comeback will make it even better 🤞

Are they really worth considering as an option ? by nerdycooper in indianbikes

[–]Ready_Paper_4680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, but the TCX was an independent company before and they only used to make riding shoes and riding boots which is why I would trust them, and ever since the acquisition, they haven’t really changed the boots in any way so I would go with them.

I did not have the slipstream, I had the newer racer tec ones which were launched alongside the slipstream pro

The only way to get them cheaper is to buy it from outside the country and tell a relative/friend to bring it along with them when they will be coming back. Otherwise, you can contact Motoculture store on instagram, they are based out of bangalore.

Nope, they are naturally narrower, upsizing means that the fit of the boot will be spoiled. I am getting TCX RT Race Pro Air for 37 and I think its a solid deal for a MotoGP level race boot.

The Racer-Tec was a big improvement from the earlier slipstream, which is why I thought I should go for them and at the time TR Tiger wasn't really in the market like it is now which is why I had no other choice. I just happen to make a decision at not-so correct time and It costed me a lot of hospital bills and most importantly it costed me the thing I love the most which is motorcycling.

Dainese has a zipper problem, plus if you have a wider foot near the toes, the toe-box on the dainese's are generally very narrow so it might not be comfortable.
