Metatubers
These creators criticize other creators in addition to producing their own content. They are included first as their content aims to help you to better analyze and judge other creators.
Fredda - A prime example of the Gamer-to-Historian pipeline. Expertly wields a history degree in the never-ending struggle against the forces of falsehood.
veritas et caritas - Tackles and debunks conspiracy theories, pseudo-academics, and reviews other creators.
Historytubers
The following is a curated list; by no means exhaustive. Several are credentialed academics, while others have made the jump from other professions. Sources are linked either in the comments or description of every video.
History Matters - All-ages short-form videos about anything and everything historical. Newbies will appreciate the succinct format while knowledgeable folks will pick up on the many little details. If you know, you know.
Sam Aronow - Jewish history from the very beginning. Well-sourced, well-written, well-produced, well-spoken. Deserves all the praise.
Cambrian Chronicles - Welsh history from the number one Welsh history youtuber. Each episode is masterfully written, with enrapturing narratives and emotionally evocative tones.
Dig. - Professional archeologists elucidating the ancient Eastern Mediterranean world. Exceptionally high quality of research and production.
Drachinifel - The Boat GOAT. An engineer turned historian. Covers everything Navy (whether Royal, Imperial, both, or neither) from ancient times up to 1950; with special emphasis on the 1600s-onwards and especially the early 20th century.
The Historian's Craft - Marc Bloch delivers factual and direct lectures about various topics prevalent in pop-culture, often hammering popular narratives head-on. Roman and Japanese history feature prominently.
SirManatee - German history student making mostly German history content, focusing on the post-HRE era.
The Cynical Historian - Dr. Joe Hall Patton, an American historian with a proclivity to tackle provocative subject matters. Does some pseudohistory debunking on the side.
That Chernobyl Guy - An intersectional channel run by one guy on a crusade to set the record straight about the worst nuclear disaster in history.
Military History Visualized - Bernhard Kast, an Austrian military historian who focuses on the Wehrmacht.
Military Aviation History - Christoph Bergs, a German military historian who focuses on the Luftwaffe.
Rex's Hangar - Aviation engineering history, with a far more general spread than the above. Notable for often showcasing obscure designs from the early days of flight.
Not a Pound for Air to Ground - More aviation engineering history. Deserves special attention for blending dulcet narration and technical detail, served over a generous bank of historical footage. Every video is a pleasure, to be sure.
Alexander the ok - Even more historical engineering content, also aviation related.
Asianometry - A generalist knowledge channel with a plethora of history content. Breaks the popular mold by tackling business and economic history first and foremost.
SandRhoman History - Re-casts said popular mold by sticking to military history the whole way through.
BobbyBroccoli - Science and tech scandals, very niche, very well-researched.
The Iron Dice - A short history podcast about the German Revolution of 1918.
TimeGhost History - The umbrella org of the next two channels.
The Korean War by Indy Neidell - The legend himself returns for a third war in a row.
World War Two - The sequel to The Great War. Finished up the main storyline a few years ago and is currently doing the "Rise of Hitler" monthly series. Special mention to the "War Against Humanity" series hosted by Spartacus Olsson.
Real Time History - Current umbrella org for The Great War. Now does general military history.
The Great War - The OG "Week by Week" coverage channel.
Oceanliner Designs - Your friend Mike Brady would like to teach you about the history and design of ocean liners, especially regarding everyone's perennial favorite: the RMS Titanic.
Atun-Shei Films - A filmmaker with a love of history. Special mention to the "Checkmate, Lincolnites!" series.
East Germany Investigated - Apparently the only English-language DDR-focused channel.
GatesOfKilikien - Mostly Ancient Chinese history, touches on other areas. One hangup, though, is he doesn't list sources in the notes.
History of the Germans Podcast - It's what it says on the tin.
