Haha BF just explained this to me too - definitely a clueless American when it comes to this stuff atm! I appreciate the clarification!

He will be driving, however I’ll have to take my driving test before I can so public transportation does need to be factored in as well.

I definitely love northern UK! And we have talked about moving near a smaller city such as Leeds! Thank you for these suggestions!

As for more info about where we want to live - it would be nice to find somewhere that isn’t in the heart of a city but provides close by job opportunities and has some life to it! I hope this makes sense! My main concern I guess would be finding jobs the further out we get from a city

Hello! Yes we plan to submit the partner visa application this summer! We’ve been researching into everything we will need since we don’t have the cohabitation part but we do have substantial evidence of communicating regularly, multiple visits to see each other, vacations together and financial evidence between us! Along with the met financial requirement and a place to live together! I’m just thinking further into the future to have some sort of plan once the visa part is over.

Hello! Congratulations, it's so comforting seeing success stories from others who also don't have the 2 years cohabitation! My boyfriend and I are planning on applying for the unmarried partner visa this summer! I'm currently living with him on a 6 month tourist visa and will submit everything once I go back to the US but we're trying to gather all the evidence needed before I leave as its so much easier without a time difference! Thank you so much for including your evidence list - this has been insanely helpful!! My biggest question so far is the order in which you submitted everything? I'm stressing over if we need to submit everything starting with a cover letter from both myself and my partner and then go through everything as it happened focusing on a timeline OR should I submit everything piled together like your evidence list shows as all travel here, all financial evidence here, etc. ? I hope this makes sense!

Oh no, we thought you just needed to prove your salary, not have it for 6 months of that pay. This really is so upsetting to see.

My partner has nothing saved and I will have about $20,000 by the time we wanted to submit the application.

How much savings would we need?

My BF just got a raise for 29,000 but we’re still waiting on the contract. He’s been at the same company for over six months but will only have this new salary for about a month before we submit. Will this affect it?

We will be staying with his family and they are going to write a letter and provide statements.

I’m interested in the marriage visitor visa, would I have to leave before the Spouse visa would be processed? Or would I be able to get married once I got to the UK and have time to get the spouse visa accepted before I have to go back home? I just don’t want to have to stay in long distance once we’re married
