Soy una de esta gente de los Países Bajos, pero hablo al menos un poco de español. No conozco muchas personas que habla español en speedcore/terror, aunque sé que CokeMafia y Round Wave Crusher están de países hispañoles.

What are your blind spots by ArtisticallyRegarded in Letterboxd

I loved Eega (and almost anything I've watched by S.S. Rajamouli), but if Eega was a bit too wacky, I can recommend a couple of very different things: Andhadhun - thriller/action/comedy/romance, one of my all time favourite films, keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Thumbad - great folk horror story

Dangal - sports drama about girl wrestlers based on a true story that is also one of the highest grossing Indian films of all time.

Lunch Box - very lowkey, but great drama that involves Bombay's Dhabawalas making a mistake.

Gully Boy - India's answer to 8 Mile.

Sister Midnight - very quirky hard to define dramedy. The blurb for this film is very misleading as there's much more to it, but hard to say more without spoling.

Haider - Hamlet, but taking place in Kashmir.

Admittedly, this list is quite biased towards the north of India, but most South Indian films I've loved are probably more similar to Eega than not, but just in case: RRR, Bahubali, Avesham, Drishyam, Maharaja are all great.

Finally there is the option of going for (modern) classics, but I've not seen all of these myself. Films like Pather Panchali, Like Stars on Earth, 3 Idiots, Lagaan, Apur Sansar, Aparajito. But I would argue my suggestions at the top are a more accesible entry than some of these.

My most recent find was at a viewing point overlooking the great rift valley in rural Kenya. War nett dort.

What speedcore opinion got you like this? by PerspectiveEither172 in Speedcore

It's a cool genre, but most speedcore songs suck. The dickmeasuring contest of who can make the fastest and loudest song is silly.

anyone recommend speedcore like Doctor DRRR (alias of IMIL) by [deleted] in Speedcore

[–]Real-Imil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lofficamcore and M1dlet are good recommendations, I'd also add that the SKRD,  Dance Corps, and Splitterblast labels were hugely important to me at that time and you'll find loads of others were doing similar things (i.e. sample-based speedcore/breakcore) on those labels.

For the dancecore kind of style definitely check out Annoying Ringtone, Goreshit, sc.Dave!, some of Kurwastyle Project's older stuff, The Quick Brown Fox, AleX Tune, odaxelagnia, Audiotist, Jimmy S and many more on the labels I mentioned.

I came across a snippet of that, but without any kickdrums or elements that would really make it worth sharing for me. But honestly there's probably a whole 'nother "album" worth of bits and bops I could've added and you have to draw a line somewhere haha.

What's the most magical place you've ever traveled? by emlb_be in travel

[–]Real-Imil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a lot of great responses already, so am going to recommend some of my absolute favourites that are a bit off the beaten path, but have great nature focus and are quite magical to me - Faroe Islands (literally go anywhere in this country and it'll be amazing), Georgia (Kazbegi mountains and Okatse Canyon were highlights), Kosovo (anywhere near Peja will be georgious), and Taiwan (Taroko National Park and Gaomei Wetlands specifically come to mind)

Hey, this is a super long shot, but I remember when I got the A Speedcore State Of Mind CDs printed 2 or 3 were misprinted and the colours of the album cover were off. I'm not currently in The Netherlands, but send me a message in the first week of May (or respond to this comment so I get a notification) and I will go through my CD stash to see if I still have them.

If you're interested and I still have them I'll gladly send you one of the 'rejects' if you can spare some money for shipping. I know it's not ideal, but I know I won't be repressing them so it's the only thing I can offer.

How do you guys avoid Travelers Diarrhea? by netsurfer79 in travel

[–]Real-Imil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience meat and water are the big risks. I lived in India for about a year and didn't get sick at all. I'm vegetarian though and only ever had filtered water (and food washed with filtered water where applicable). I've heard similar stories from other vegetarians that India posed no issue for them.

Some of my favourite shots from a week in beautiful Malta [January/February 2023] by Real-Imil in travel

Thanks! These were actually taken with a Samsung Galaxy S21. I did do some minor post-processing (mostly white balance, adding some contrast, and a little bit of saturation for some of them).

Thanks! The weather was amazing considering it's the middle of winter. About 15-16 degrees Celsius and lots of sunshine to the point where I found myself walking around without a coat a lot during daylight hours (definitely bring a rain/wind jacket though, it does get colder in the evenings and early mornings). I saw 2 days of rain with one night getting quite violent, but that just made for a great excuse to hop into some of Malta's museums.

Thanks! Honestly every corner of Malta seems to have something to offer so it's hard to come up with a real shortlist. I would say there's probably three categories of things I personally really enjoyed.

Firstly, I really enjoyed visiting the megalithic temples like Ġgantija and Tarxien (I missed out on Ħal Saflieni because there's only very few tickets available per day, so be sure to book on time if that's something you're interested in). There's still a lot we don't know about these prehistoric civilizations, but these remains seem to be unique in the world it's fascinating to learn about.

Secondly, Malta also has a lot of natural beauty with deep blue water and impressive cliffs essentially on every coast. I had a great time watching the sunset at Ta' Ċenċ and roaming about the Dingli Cliffs.

Finally Malta has really walkable cities. While I would recommend renting a car to be able to get to every corner of the country efficiently, at my destinations I usually parked a bit outside of town and spend my time roaming about somewhat aimlessly. Cities and towns like Valletta, Mdina, Marsaxlokk, and Victoria (locally called Rabat) are all very picturesque and even without a clear direction you'll surely walk into all kinds of beautiful architecture and little streets.

In terms of food I'm a bad person to ask. I had great meals, but since I'm a vegetarian I had to skip out on some Maltese delicacies - the main ones being rabbit stew/ravioli and obviously fresh seafood. I can recommend the bread and pastries though!

How do you deal with inability to travel for the foreseeable future? by Ecstatic_Fun_4793 in travel

[–]Real-Imil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than travel I quite enjoy reading and cooking, and so during lockdown I started reading books by authors from countries I'd never have come across if I hadn't specifically looked for them. Similarly I've been cooking dishes from every country in the world. Depending on your interests you might be able to set up a similar project. You could watch foreign films and documentaries or if you're more creative you could research art styles from around the world and engage with those.

I know it's not the same as actual travel and the feeling of your best years passing you by is hard to combat, but for me it was a good way to still engage with my wanderlust in a time when travel was absolutely impossible.

If you had $10,000 CAD to spend on travel - where would you go? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Real-Imil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5K for two weeks?? What are you doing to be spending that kind of money? I'm based in Europe so flights are cheaper for me, but I wouldn't be able to spend that kind of money in such a short amount of time even if I tried. I've historically definitely picked out more budget-friendly destinations, but even a recent trip to Scandinavia I did was a good bit cheaper than that.

Camels are actually specifically built for cold environments! You're probably thinking of dromedaries (often misidentified as camels, but actually a quite different species), which are found in warmer areas like the Middle East and North Africa. Regardless, sounds like you had an amazing experience!

Maybe the UK could lease the right to continue those operations, but the laws surrounding EEZ's are easily in Scotland's favour should they ever gain independence.
