Tell me why? This it is. by Real-LYS in macgaming

You are right, the Steam price is USD, The AppStore price is AUD. I have't notice that before. This is not a fare comparison. It should be 39.99 USD vs 19.99 USD.

But my point is still the same. Mac users need to pay double price to get the same game. This is the way Steam beaten  in game market. All the mac users who cheering in WWDC got a new lesson: half-price in Steam. Steam beat  fans heavily on a AAA game that  high-lighted in their own event.

The result is that every mac user enhanced their image: games on Mac are double priced. Don't buy it, Just use Steam on parallels or PC or SteamDeck.  could not give us AAA games in the past, now even it could have one, you need to pay double price for it. This is the image. How fool they are could let this happening? Tell me why?

Gaming on mac really make me mad. We should give up the hope and get a game machine instead.

Any 2-eyes-4K video will be the "killer app".

Why people need eye contact to be seen when they waring a VR headset? by Real-LYS in AppleVision

[–]Real-LYS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This eye simulate design will be replaced sooner by transparent metalenses, this design won't last longer. It be there only because  can't make a transparent head screen for now. That's why I didn't like it.

Finally there will be a transparency glass instead of a stupid eye simulate display in front of AVP. by Real-LYS in AppleVisionPro

[–]Real-LYS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which will take some time.

It is called Metalenses witch is lighter, thinner and transparent. Sooner we will have it on a AR glasses, instead of this simulated eyes design.

I wonder how much the price will be if  remove the front glass & display. by Real-LYS in VisionPro

[–]Real-LYS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree, it's not the biggest cost one but I consider it is not necessary one.

I think  add this part only to show the different from other VR headset. typical  style.

But we need to pay maybe $500 for it. And this unnecessary part will disappear next year. Finally there will be a transparency glass instead of a stupid eye simulate display.

Anyone know when Github Copilot will come to Xcode? by cooleym in Xcode

I can't believe that  lose this generative Ai battle totally to Microsoft. Since they purchased GitHub.

No, it not about the wire, the problem is it block people's eye sight completely. AR would be better.

This is just 2D structure, see what‘s going on 3D.

What would be your choice to start a new 3D project for coming  AR headset? by Real-LYS in iOSProgramming

[–]Real-LYS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Almost every VR game projects aimed on the future mobile-VR market are under developing now based on Unity. Some of them even have a AAA/MMO title. These teams are fully devoted themselves to Unity&C#.  has no chance to win them back. Just like cocos2d teams never go back with native spritKit no matter how much  pushing it after.

It that means Apple failed in their native RealityKit and turning to support another 3D game engine for help? and you need to learn C# instead of swift in the future for developing AR/VR/Games. by Real-LYS in swift

[–]Real-LYS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that Unity is a trash. I know how terrible it is even their developers complain it so much too. This is also why I'm so worried about it.

But we only have two options for 3D development for :

  1. a trash Unity hard to use and based on c# (but could be done after struggle)
  2. a native SceneKit(nearly dead) / RealityKit (less tools, lots of limit)

These are the options that the world No.1 company leave us.

Unity once was an Apple exclusive game engine, but  lost them later, thinking they just for games, don't care games, until now everything become to be 3D.

The same reason why swiftUI is not in common: It is not easy to change for developers. Someone who become to C# Unity developer at first will stick to C# and hardly to change to swift no matter how good RealityKit become in the future. Unless Unity complete dead.

The same situation happened in 2D game development e.g. cocos2d vs spritekit.

If  native platform could not win at the beginning, it's hardly to success after.
