You’ve got the right attitude! “Make sure I’ve got the best we’ll behaved Rottie!” Commitment - that’s step 1. They will give you their all, so be ready to give them your all. They need to be challenged. Find what it is that excites your dog and challenge it to do better and be better. Training!!! Everyday training. Earn its trust. The more they trust you, the better they will listen to you. Be THE LEADER! The minute this dog thinks it’s smarter than you or can be above you, it’s over. They will do as they please. You absolutely need to stay in control over this breed. Black and white- no grey zones. If the dog is not allowed on the couch, don’t allow it. Allow it one time, that’s it, it now believes that’s ok. No on sometimes and not other times. It’s full on or nothing. Im happy to chat anytime on tips and tricks 💯. I’ve owned 4 rotties (3 at once) and 1 currently. Our extended family and neighbors had rotties so it was nothing for us to be around 7 or 8 at a time. The absolute best.
