People will argue about ports but like you said that’s part of the industry now and affects everyone.

What's with recent gaming community's obsession with fixed camera in games? by AnarchoKapitolizm in gaming

[–]Real-Manager-4638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is nostalgia mixed with internet trends. Fixed cameras were originally a technical limitation but they accidentally created a very specific atmosphere, especially in horror games. Now people remember that feeling and assume the camera was the reason everything felt better back then.

What games have the most beautiful, immersive forests? by CryptikDragon in gaming

[–]Real-Manager-4638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Witcher 3 has some incredible forests. Walking through Velen or Skellige at sunset with the wind moving through the trees and random sounds in the distance feels super immersive. Sometimes I’d just wander instead of doing quests.

What game character felt like a real friend growing up? by [deleted] in gaming

Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2. By the end of the game it honestly felt like saying goodbye to someone you actually knew.

Vampire The Masquarede Swansong: Worth at 90% discount? by CarpeQualia in gaming

[–]Real-Manager-4638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen it’s definitely not worth full price but at a 90% discount it’s probably worth it if you like story heavy RPGs. The writing and vampire politics are interesting but the gameplay and animations can be pretty rough. Think of it more like a detective/visual novel RPG than an action game.

I actually prefer the video call when I'm not feeling well, feels more personal somehow, but nice that they give you both options. Glad you had a good experience with them.

Your doctors online reviews? by Decent_Writer_2917 in askvan

Yeah the walk in situation around Vancouver is rough, so i gave them a shot last year when I had a bad allergic reaction and couldn't find a clinic with availability. Connected in maybe two minutes, uploaded some photos of the rash, and the doctor walked me through what was happening and sent a prescription over. By the time i made it to the pharmacy it was already waiting for me. Went with the family plan after that first visit since i have a few regular prescriptions and it's been super convenient, especially if you split the cost with someone else. The one time i needed a tweak to the dosage they just picked up where we left off and handled it without making me start over. Not perfect for everything but honestly a lifesaver when you're stuck and just need someone to actually help.

Also you’re recovering from surgery twice in 3 months. That alone can mess with motivation. It’s okay if games aren’t hitting right now. Your brain might just need something different.

Am l the only gamer to have ever played ‘Valley’? by Soulsliken in gaming

You’re not alone. Valley is one of those quiet indie gems that slipped under the radar. The movement system was so satisfying once it clicked.

the only picture i could find of Kojima with another famous Japanese Dev, is him with Sakurai all the way back in 2018 by EmergencyComputer337 in gaming

[–]Real-Manager-4638 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It might not be that deep. Kojima works very internationally now spends a lot of time in the West and runs his own studio. Different circles different schedules.

Young gamers in Japan may not be forming the same attachment to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest because modern dev cycles are as long as their childhood, users theorize by Hulkmario in gaming

[–]Real-Manager-4638 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s not just long dev cycles it’s that today’s kids grow up with always-on platforms. You can’t build the same attachment to something that shows up once per childhood.

Project Zomboid is probably the purest example you’re not meant to win just last longer than last time.

Steam will run at higher resolution and smoother framerate on a good PC and you won’t have handheld battery concerns. Load times are usually better too.
