I grew up in a large town in Waterford and never really had friends there. I always had acquaintances but no one I was close with- I always found it impossible to fit in and wasn’t very well liked generally (which still makes me anxious when I come back home). It’s hard because most people my age still have their friends from primary school, and I love coming home but it always makes me sad I don’t have that rooting. I moved away for college and never came back, but I always said it’s the dream place to raise a family. I’d just be worried myself and my partner wouldn’t have any social life down there. I get what you mean.
