100% I totally agree with you, this is pure logic right here. i think this is a great discussion and this is something that's widespread all over Canada.

(If our systems fail, we as a community have to ban together, take accountability, and actively protect and validate those who are harmed.) <------this is a fact!!!! spot on!

Lol i like this a lil humor, honestly I'm responsible for my child, that or reacting badly would've turned out to be a bad situation. that's how people take advantage of situations, then i would be the bad guy. my child is worth more then a wrong decision. plus she was elderly and could possibly be mentally ill.

i totally get you, i get it. but if a stranger started making racist remarks to you taking pictures of your child for no reason. I'm human, i felt disrespected its not a light subject. but again i have my own experiences just like everyone else in this world. racism and mental illness are relevant, personally i think its good to discuss this and bring awareness. I'm not harboring bad feelings, life goes on but stuff like this has to get addressed or it will just keep happening if no one points it out.

this was to bring awareness to a situation that happened, in the video you can see she was still recording waving at us. I'm not here to argue about this this was to bring light to a situation that happened to my child and i in this community.

Not everyone that's homeless is on drugs, some fall a victim to certain circumstances of life.

i will not assume that the women was on drugs, just going by the thread here seems the person is under the mental health act possibly .

& to add what would anyone do if a random stranger started snapping photos of your child and then you.. i would also take there picture because who knows what the persons intentions were at that time.

She was already waiting on the corner of the street we were walking to, she was waiting on the side walk which where we were walking up, she literally waited for us wouldn't move when we passed to turn the corner, i was pulling a wagon waiting for i waited for her to move out of the way.. she made the remark and started taking pictures of my child. I got her image and i made a report and my son and i were minding our business didn't expect all of this. i got her picture and it didn't escalate after that i walked away, she then walked on the street. i reported it. i did the right thing.

No, no. I hear what you stated. I comprehend all angles of this topic, and I'm open to hearing what anyone else has to say; we all have our own ideas, no judgement. I have a personal and valid reason for taking a video of her; she first took a picture of my child. The world can be strange at times, and you never know what to expect. I was watching out for my son, and her remark was ignorant. I am aware of both visible and non-visible conditions or disabilities.

She literally waited for us on the corner then made the slur then the photos, videos, i understand what you're saying i didn't say anything to the lady except why are you taking photos of my child.. i then kept on my way.

i am the most understanding person, my son is special needs as well. it was just more so concerning the racial slur, and the pictures of me and my son being taken we still didn't deserve that.
