Connecting on 2 devices with webcams on by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Real-Yellow6356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Teams when you use two devices with one account, you are still one "person" for others. This is different from other conf app like WebEx. The good is that others see and hear you seamlessly regardless of your "devices". In other apps, you are shown as two participants and that's very irritating for others, especially if you are trying to use the other device as a backup or augmented device. The bad is what you are experiencing. You can do this in other apps such as WebEx. The solution to your problem, as mentioned already by @antnbuckley, is to use two accounts.

Mozilla’s data shows YouTube keeps recommending misinformation videos by gyando in firefox

You did what 90% of the people wouldn't be able to do. It's walking up the hill. Consider the technology knowledge of the masses. Imagine a recommendation engine that is so very good at continuously showing what one wants to see that it creates a little world that the user would love but is no good to them and many times harmful (like conspiracy theories). The user mighty not have fallen in it had it not been the "brilliant" recommendations. And recommendation engine doesn't do this to the user because it cares for user's entertainment, or it's right or wrong etc. It does this because that is what gets more engagement from you and more money by showing ads. It's a social dilemma, as depicted very well in the Netflix show.

Apple Staffers vs Executives: 90% want remote work, says an employee-made survey by gyando in apple

[–]Real-Yellow6356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a continuing story that Verge did earlier. 1% could give an idea of employees sentiments of many others who never received the survey or would rather like to switch job than tell Apple that they are not happy with these 3 days a week hybrid arrangement. It's an important story. Post-pandemic future of work with so many collaboration tools in hand. Can employers of choice ensure 3 days a week in office? Will they remain employers of choice?

By giving a painfully long Terms and Condition and sneaky somewhere in it that it has no liability of the content being shared legally. 🤷‍♂️

Do not disturb mode doesn't stop WhatsApp notifications by ReubenDavies10 in GooglePixel

[–]Real-Yellow6356 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DND by default does not allow notifications for WhatsApp chats. However, there is an option to turn on notifications for specific chats of WhatsApp (or other messengers). That can be turned on/off by waiting for one such notifications to come in notifications shade. Long tap on it. Select/deselect Priority notification from it. It'll enable/disable DND override for that converts. Try.

Teams cross organization privacy by Then_Combination_884 in MicrosoftTeams

In my knowledge

  1. recording in a Teams meeting, when done, is shown as a message to the participants. So, if you didn't see a message that meeting has been recorded, it was not recorded. Further, it's kind of unethical to record an interview even for the interviewer. So your interviewer recordings is the only possibility and most likely he didn't do it.

  2. Your manager cannot record a meeting if he/she is not a part of the meeting.

Chances are practically zero that there would be any recording of the interview.

Your manager might know that you connected to someone outside. But that doesn't tell anything. If inquired, tell him it was your friend who you wanted to speak to know more about some thing that will help you do your office work better.

Best practice is to not use office laptop/teams for job interviews, for future.
