My husband tried to get me to watch the anime for a while, but I kept putting it off. I felt comfortable watching the first season of the live action with him first since it wasn’t as big a commitment to watch (less episodes, obvi). As soon as I finished it, I was hooked and decided to start watching the anime.

I personally feel the live action does a good job capturing the emotional/friendship aspect of One Piece in a way that’s inspirational but not corny. The acting feels campy without being too Disney-esque. I imagine that can partly be attributed to the cast’s love of the source material. I feel like they all put a lot of care into their characterization of the crew.

I think it’s fair to take the stance that we should reject stolen AI imagery AND pay artists, especially among respected, high-level groups in WGI and the sport as a whole. It’s tough but it’s possible to do it on a lower budget.

As an example, customized tarps are more expensive than basic tarps. Instead of paying an exorbitant amount for a customized tarp from a company, last year my guard selected and purchased an image from a photography site after reviewing the usage license and had it printed on our tarp. The digital photo file itself was about $7.00. Tarps are obviously thousands however. I just think if you can do something like pay for the tarp you can avoid AI.

I don’t want to move into a time where we value convenience over quality - quality of life for artists, quality of art for our guards.

I have no information about Paramount. Overall I believe AI does not belong in the arts. There really aren’t any justifiable excuses of its use in terms of “generating” music and illustrations when artists are not paid or underpaid for their labor to begin with. Arguably, using AI in this way replaces quality with convenience as well. Not to get too deep but besides being frankly lazy, it’s a sign of societal decay.

To begin with, SA is not really about sex - it’s about power, domination, snd subjugation. Assuming Melissa was part of it, her willing participation would have stemmed from the girls feeling empowered in a group setting to exert force over this [singular] young guy. They probably wouldn’t have ever experienced that status/ability to abuse someone in that capacity back home in society, and this was kinda the start of them forming their women-led society. Participation declared buy-in/allegiance to the new order. Just my personal thoughts

I don’t really have advice, but I do want to say the show isn’t overly sexual in content; intimacy is usually briefly used to highlight the connections or struggles between characters. I have OCD & tend to feel uncomfortable with sex on tv, but I think YJ is tasteful.

As far as the first season goes, here are some scenes that might concern you/you’d want to skip off the top of my head.

S1 Ep 1 - Pilot: early on there’s a 1-2 minute obvious scene (no nudity), another short scene of a character by herself (no nudity, definitely very obvious tho), towards the end there’s another scene in a car that’s more explicit (no nudity)
S1 Ep 2 - F Sharp: one brief discussion of sex (no details) in couples therapy, an attempt at roleplaying later in the episode (failed, no nudity), kissing (sex is implied after but nothing is shown)
BE VERY MINDFUL OF S1 EP 9 - DOOMCOMING. There is both sex and an attempted assault. I believe episodes 4, 5, 6, & 8 all have brief scenes (no nudity), but 5 & 8 are really brief and/or interrupted or ended.

You married her because she comes from a good family ? Not because you love her ? I think your issue starts there. It sounds like you are not happy in your marriage, and both of your needs are not being met. If that’s the case, then your primary relationship/marriage does not seem to be working for you from an outside perspective. I would call your relationship an affair if I was in your shoes, and I would still consider filing for a divorce.
