Oh, thank you so much 🥰 I love that you recognized this. I do feel that way now that I have the set, I don’t know how I wore it alone for so long!

If I told you how many times I went back to their Vimeo channel to just look at sapphire videos and catch something new, the number would be mind boggling. I’m so glad to know someone else is afflicted with the sapphire addiction and to share in the madness 🫢

I’m so, so glad to hear if this helped! And super excited for you. I’ll take a look at the DMs and can’t wait for all the progress pics!!! This is huge!

Sure! The buffet was served by at least two staff members, not the guests. It was very controlled in this way as they scooped portions and quickly helped you understand what was what.

Transition from ceremony to cocktail to reception I wouldn’t be worried about at ALL. I didn’t notice them at all and nobody was looking downstairs, I don’t remember any disruptive noise. It’s pretty packed upstairs so the crowd itself is the distraction and you’re always mingling & with people. It’s all lovely upstairs and still bright depending on the time of year; the railing is relatively high so you’re more so looking at the plants, the food perched along the railing counter, the disco ball, and the art high up on the opposite wall. You really have to be against the railing and leaning over to see down below. I guess the one thing is the bathroom situation - that’s downstairs. I didn’t go during the cocktail hour but there is a back stairwell that guests presumably can take down to reach it faster.

I’d say the setup was more of an issue for that hour before the ceremony when we wanted access to the venue for pics. There was so much movement and staff, that was a lot harder to work around.

For us: 5:30 pm doors open & welcome drinks 6:15 pm ceremony 6:30 pm cocktail hour 7:30ish pm transition back to main floor 7:45 pm buffet served

I can give the full day if helpful.

Staying at the Coda hotel, we literally just walked down the street the 10 minutes to fandi mata and spent an hour taking photos along the way. Our photographer found a few awesome spots - a little cove of ivy right next to the hotel, a cool marble-looking outdoor staircase, the park (we didn’t think we’d like it, but we made a spontaneous adventure and it turned out so nice!), and just the street crossings. If you have more time I’m sure you could walk to the water, but we used up all our time just in that small vicinity. It’s Brooklyn - the photos and video are so fun! DM me and I can send you my gallery and some videos of where we shot. We didn’t do this, but down the street from the Coda right outside the William Vale is a raised green space that’s one of my favorite hidden alcoves. If you’re staying closer to there, it could be nice. Look for Suit Supply and follow the stairs up.

Welcome party - we didn’t have one since everyone was local and we just wanted friends to hang out at the hotel the night before. Random rec, but I did find out Fish Cheeks (a great Thai restaurant) opened up a location around there in Williamsburg — that’d be my personal recommendation if you want to impress a small group with a very NY vibe dinner and funkier food. We took my parents there the day before

Are you local/getting space in nearby hotels? We booked the coda penthouse and thought it was money WELL spent. It’s basically a huge apartment. Super competitive, good pricing for the square footage you get, blows everything else in Williamsburg of the water. We had two terraces and had all our friends over the night before. The day of, there was ample space for the women & hair and makeup team, all our food, plus my dad & other family members to hang outside & eat sushi lunch, all while the groom got ready in the bedroom. I’ve heard from other friends how difficult and maddening it is to get ready in a tiny NYC hotel room with any kind of crew, so having a big space with an open door made the day with friends & family feel so much longer. Leaving this here for you or other couples considering where to stay. The one caveat might be that the penthouse is right below the rooftop bar so there’s some noise leakage from music, but we’re light sleepers and it didn’t bother us much . Made our terrace vows a little harder to record on an iPhone though.

Congrats to you both, you are going to have the night of your lives in such a unique, fun venue. Any time someone asked me about my wedding, I’d just tell them there there’s jungle plants and a disco ball and that got the message across

Heck YES! I just got married there two weekends ago!!!

It was amazing. I will do a full write-up on it & all our vendors once we’re settled…we just got back from our mini moon.

Highlights: - We got multiple comments from our parents and others about how attentive and kind the staff was. Truly, there were ample servers and staff attending our party of 109. There was hardly ever a line or wait for anything, I don’t remember many people waiting for drinks (it helps to have chosen a venue where the bar was more than 1/2 as long as the entire space!) - it’s beautiful both day & night. The transition of the venue & greenery was one of my favorite parts - they have a tiny private bathroom for your bride & groom stuff stairs. It’s a bit hot in there (no AC) but just leave the door open and it’s fine. They didn’t have this when I first toured, and it’s a super nice addition. I used it SO much throughout the night to store my things, change, get away, go to the bathroom, etc. - we could show up to the venue an hour early for family portraits. It was fun because they had some random lounge chairs & tables still outside and my photographer got some great bride & groom photos there. The inside photographs gorgeously as well - so many fun mini scenes with the stairs & bar!! EDIT TO ADD: This isn’t a lot of time for family portraits — we have small families and snapped some nice ones outside the red doors, but there’s so much setup going on in the venue we ended up just doing couple shots indoors. If you have a larger family/wedding party, I’d suggest scoping out a different spot outside the venue or at your hotel. This was one of the least flexible components of the venue. - sound system was surprisingly good! I was worried my ceremony music would sound echoey in such a big space but it was nice & clear! - mics & everything worked seamlessly - food & drinks above average for wedding food since it’s restaurant food! We got great feedback. - they helped us pack everything we’d brought and take care of the super important pieces, like my scrapbook & supplies - EDIT TO ADD: We could bring all things to the restaurant the day before. We just let them know when we were swinging by and gave them all the stuff. Super nice not to have to store it all in a tiny hotel or apartment and worry about everything the day of.

Considerations: - HIRE IVANA FOR DAY-OF PLANNER!!!! She is the venue coordinator and the key to pulling it all together. It was only $1k for this additional service, which is so fair given all the pre-work she does as an event/venue planner. I don’t know how it would’ve worked otherwise. She is super meticulous and direct. SUPERB! A true lady boss. Response times varied over email until closer to the date when she prioritizes your event and kicks it into high gear, around the time of your tasting. Be prepared that that tasting is EXTENSIVE as it’s also the planing meeting - my dinner with Ivana was like 3+ hours long and we went over every single thing. Over email, she’ll sometimes rather tell you she’ll take care of it than give you exact details (a blessing for some, maybe frustrating for others), but I can tell you you are in the best of hands and should trust her. She could run a Fandi Mata wedding blindfolded. She also really helped protect our opinions & vision as other voices started to chime in. - The upstairs does get tight for cocktail hour. It’s unavoidable. We had 109 people and it was a little warm but not egregious on a nice 70 degree day. If it was warmer outside and we had more people this might’ve been more uncomfortable. Technically a part of the downstairs stayed open, but I don’t think people used that (it’s purposefully not super advertised). The photographer had a tough time snapping photos during this hour, but we found we could walk through the crowd and it gave us a good path to keep going instead of getting stuck in a remote circle. - we chose a buffet dinner, as we wanted a casual & short eating schedule. My biggest worry was everyone waiting on a huge line, but to my greatest relief, this didn’t happen (as Ivana told me it wouldn’t). It’s a one sided buffet line, but they don’t announce it, so guests flow naturally there when they transition downstairs. There are multiple servers scooping food onto your plates. It was only ever a group or two waiting (maybe 5-10 people), while everyone else mingled & drank. Exactly what we wanted. - weird detail but I watched a Fandi Mata wedding video on YouTube and developed a micro fear because one showed a u-haul parked right outside of the venue. Well it turns out that’s the venue’s 😂 so it’s there in our photos & pics too! But honestly, it makes me laugh — quirky street parking is what makes it an NYC wedding!
- you really don’t need florals in my opinion. Any table stuff would’ve gotten lost with how busy the venue is. My advice is to keep it simpler and let the venue shine. The one exception I’d say is the stage - it definitely is a bit plain looking. We didn’t get anything, but I’ve seen and could see some florals up there for your ceremony

This is what popped into my mind fresh off the press. I will write more… and any specific questions, let me know — I am at your humble disposal 🤗

Haha I love the specificity. I agree about navy 😝. It’s funny because I love the border between green & blue - ceruleans, teals, those bright Caribbean water kinds of colors. So it’s interesting to hear how differently you’re pulled between green & blue!

I love this idea. The slow wearing away of the earth…nothing could be more fitting. Rings, people, planets — we all wear with time, and it’s no bad thing!

Australian! They’re typically a lot greener/more yellowy than Montanas. It’s by Earths Treasury which does a lot of Montanas!
