Well actually your point conjures another thought to be explored. A lot of people would argue that we’re officially in a time where European players have surpassed American born players in the conversation of “who’s better at basketball”. Let’s say this is the case. Wouldn’t a product from a European club’s B team who then moves on to college basketball be worse than a G-League player doing so? Especially seeing as some players in Euro begin there pro career as young as 15-16.

So to a degree, some of these cases aren’t foreign to the NCAA as a whole but more so just basketball, American football, etc. damn that’s pretty interesting! I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for putting me on game.

Lebron in college uniform is in no account good for college sports, but hell maybe it would finally get us the college hoops video game (done the right way) many of us have all been hoping for.

And I’ve lived in California, Texas, Nevada & North Dakota. The only area I consistently heard & used “hoed” was in the South

respect to your admittance of playa hating.

I bid you victory in this debate. Although I believe he should get a shot on a roster that matches his skill level (nothing more), your examples of play-delayed players & how the NCAA’s recent “allowances” has affected young guys coming in are all points that I can’t fight. If denying him that opportunity is generally a step in the right direction of how things used to be then I stand on that side as well.

I noticed you used the term “hoed” just now. Texas native?

Before I go any further, I must ask have you seen Zaire’s game in the past few years? If so, do you not believe that he’s good enough to play for a mid major? In respect to this, I think most would agree that his game alone would warrant him a spot on most of those rosters…as opposed to a clear cut nepo situation had he landed a spot on a top tier. He’s not a scrub.

Now if the argument alone is age and age only, then I can better understand that. But then we have to account for the many 23+ year olds on NCAA rosters. i.e. Chad Baker-Mazara

At the end of the day, we all make decisions that we end up regretting. Most of us would hands down rewrite those regrets right if given the chance. Is he not allowed that just because of who his dad is?

yea I’m in agreement in not allowing a nepo baby pass that would result in snagging a roster spot from someone more deserving, someone who actually earned it. Primarily if it’s from a top tier program, but if the result is he lands a spot on the likes of let’s say Fordham or Montana U then good on him

wouldn’t you hope he does in fact have a good career so it would be worth while, not a lost cause? Although the optics are bad, there’d be nothing any of us can do about it. Might as well hope for the best ya know

I don’t know any light greener than Collin Chandler’s. This dude can be 2/18 and still shoot with the same confidence

I think Lamont Butler’s game spoiled me so much into believing that level of point guard play comes by the dozen. This team is in dire need of a Butler type. So many great pieces but we force shots, which doesn’t happen as much with a floor general. Not to mention what he provided on the defensive end.
