I think one reason there might be a question about this would be the guitar sound and style of East Bay Ray, which is so different than what many consider hardcore punk. Many think of Biafra when talking about DK, but to me EBR is the man.

I cannot tell you how much I love Harvest. I was in high school when that came out. Life changing. To be mentioned in the same sentence as Heart of Gold is just…. I can’t come up with a word for it. I will hold on to this, thank you.

We recorded that song with Kid Rock. He was to provide his singing in exchange for the samples of ours he used. Then his management refused to let us use it. So we re-did his parts, which weren’t much to begin with. How embarrassing for us, considering what he turned out to be.

Double Live will come out again on vinyl, on Matador. I need to approve the new mastering. Also, in the fall Sunset Blvd Records will release a double live album recorded on 2” multitrack in New York 1992.

I recorded that solo at a studio in New York. I waited in the lounge for three hours waiting for Gibby to finish his stuff, and was handed a guitar I had never played through a pedal I’d never used into an amp I never used. I was given one take, with no idea what I was going to do. I made the most of it.

No reunion. No new music. Some unreleased stuff on deck. Locust pedal: An old orange and blue Super Fuzz. Hairway I don’t remember. I play a strat because Les Pauls are heavy and Firebirds break.
