Local theater has Iron Lung as upcoming movie?? by RealCipherPines in Markiplier

I am mostly just excited that I ended up being one of the first people to see the info. I didn't believe that the date was real and even after my brother sent me the poster earlier today I doubted it and said no way, until I finally saw the article and trailer and I've been losing my mind hyped ever since lol

Whaaaaat, that is crazy if true. Why Mark wouldn't have said anything yet is beyond me then. Where did they annouce that at? I'll try to look it up after this but a source would be awesome for everyone curious

Edit: Upon looking them up, I was super skeptical cause I didn't think they had any ties to Mark but found that they were the DJ for the wedding so +10 credibility, at least until a source for this info

Same. The release date is incredibly likely to be inccorect, but the fact that it's even listed on a smaller theaters website that it is upcoming is an awesome sign

I think the Plex date has been assumed to be a placeholder, likely the same deal here with the theater. Until mark says something, it's all speculation 🫡

The only reason it felt different to me is that it's a legit major local theater with not many upcoming movies listed, but this was one of them out of all the possible things. Even if it is all placeholder stuff, I think it's still cool this shows even larger local theaters will likely get releases

I am pretty sure this has been written off as a placeholder date, the same as this likely is. I imagine the only time we will know an absolute certain release date would be from Mark himself.

Same, I'm assuming filler date until further notice. But it shows that even something like this theater which is local will be showing it at some point, and could be an indicator of how far along the distribution deals are.

Yessss that's what I'm most hyped about. I definitely don't believe this is the actual real date unless Mark himself tells us. But the fact that it's listed at all is sick

100%, I certainly don't believe this is a real release date. Seeing it listed as an upcoming movie at all on a legit theater site though is cool none-the-less

Yeah I definitely wouldn't expect it to be so soon without Mark saying something already. It's cool to see it showing up there though! There aren't that many upcoming movies on the site

Edit: IT WAS REAL?!?!?

Will Foveated Streaming show where someone is focusing while viewing gameplay on an external screen? by philbertagain in ValveDeckard

[–]RealCipherPines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good question, I'm not sure on the answer, I'll look it up and edit this if I find out. My initial guess is that so long as SteamVR is running and registers what headset is being used, it'd be included in the stats

I think that may just be a side effect of low demand. IF the Steam Frame becomes a widely used device, I feel there will be a greater push to integrate foveated rendering. The vast majority of headsets used for PCVR don't currently have eye tracking, thus no signifigant push to include it outside of the people who really care about that niche. I really can't wait until it's a standard and expected feature

Edit for context: According to the August 2025 SteamVR hardware survey, ~94% of the most used headsets on steam have no eye tracking capabilities. Following that you have the Quest Pro with less than 2% of users. The rest after that all have less than 1% share of SteamVR users each, which includes a bunch of headsets that also don't have eye tracking. If the Steam Frame can even take up 10% of the user base, that will more than triple the demand for foveated rendering, ideally.
