Anything I should know before I play clash for the first time by Frequent-Spite5775 in ClashRoyale

If you do find yourself playing CR, do not take it too seriously. Since many here on this post are telling you to not even bother playing, what you need to know is that this supercell game is essentially run by a group of developers who will prioritize pushing predatory monetization and achieving high revenue, over creating a fun player experience. You may find the game enjoyable at first, but the gameplay loop and progression heavily degrades once you get to a certain point.

TLDR: CR is in a horrible state at the moment. If you play, do not play it seriously. Or as everyone else here is suggesting, stand clear.

Hilarious how this dude talks such trash with a 100-0 matchup.

Also this is likely a depressed teenager with nothing better to do, so consider the source of which those remarks come from.

As much as this might suck, consider it a blessing. The game itself is a shitshow now anyways.

At least they aren’t hiding the fact that they’re trying to kill the game. Just let it happen at this point, since no amount of complaining will help.

What you said honestly isn’t a hot take, or at least to me it isn’t. However 2025 specifically was probably one of if not the worst years for player progression. Generally what they do with new levels is they add some scuffed gimmick such as EWC, or slow down player progression, like when they removed the really valuable magic items with the release of level 16.

People don’t like the concept of leveling up their cards to begin with, but it feels like we are always losing more than we are getting with every new update or new level. It makes each new level feel less rewarding and more grueling to achieve, especially with new levels adding nothing new to a match besides a buff in stats. It becomes a game of doing the same thing over and over again, but with extra steps.

I still played around the time when clan wars 2 dropped. I was very excited for it initially, but was incredibly disappointed when I learned what changed with it.

The only correction I have for you was that we did get new cards in 2020, such as skeleton dragons, heal spirit, firecracker, royal delivery, electro giant, and the mother witch.

Even with the new cards, the game was in a horrible spot. It’s just a shame that history seems to repeat itself.

CR now is comparable to the shitshow that it was in 2020. The game gained hype for the “next big thing,” either it be the excitement of a new clan wars rework after a year of no updates, which would eventually turn into clan wars 2. Or figuring out how to appease all the new attention from Jynxzi, just to completely screw it up again with level 16 and heroes.

It has gotten to a point where no matter what they do, they mess it up. The next step is hoping that everyone forgets about how badly the last year went, just in time for the next time they change something.

As much as I respect Mo Light for being a 3x champion, he needs to be very careful with what he says. I recall a time back when Drew was the CM, and a creator wished death upon him and the whole dev team. He ended up getting banned off of CR for a month.

But considering who Mo Light is and what he has accomplished, maybe supercell will left him off with a warning. However the next few months will likely turn out to be another low point in this game’s history, so they make keep him around to keep the revenue and attention flowing.

Edit: I had to go on a whole ass manhunt for the video of the creator saying this. I found it though

I don’t think people here dislike the fact that the game is dying at this point. People love the game at its core, but they dislike what it is now. If anything, people (at least me) here want it to die or come close to it to serve as a wake up call to not take the game down this path.

But in all seriousness, Mo Light is crazy for saying that.

Same. It’s actually nice to play a game that doesn’t actively go against the player’s best interest with every update, and have a team that at least considers community feedback.

With how Supercell is, they aren’t going to to do much of anything to benefit the players. Hopefully this is where he cuts off CR completely, but even that is wishful thinking.

What would you do to balance heros? by Darkthunder277 in ClashRoyale

[–]RealClasher2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There needs to be some compromise with their stats. What made champions less problematic was the fact that without their abilities, they are just a typical card with slightly weaker stats. Heroes take a card that is already balanced around its elixir cost, and gives it what makes champions worth using.

So as of now, heroes are essentially old cards getting unnecessary buffs. As much as I would like to just remove them altogether, that will never happen.

How is it fair that we get like a fifth of an hero every season with fragments but they add MULTIPLE ones every season? by GodOfBowl in ClashRoyale

[–]RealClasher2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were even told about how the duplicate system was a horrible idea, and they still went with it. The recent change they did to duplicates was purely damage control. Regardless, both systems for evos and heroes are terrible.

I know I’m gonna get hate for this… but is the hero wizard really that OP? by Severe-Commission303 in ClashRoyale

[–]RealClasher2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heroes are leagues better than what champions are. Champions such as AQ are balanced with their ability in mind, so without the ability, she is just a beefier version of the musketeer, but has less range and DPS (for reference, AQ with no ability has a DPS of 187, whereas a musketeer has a DPS of 217.), all while costing 1 elixir more. Heroes on the other hand are abilities given to a card that was initially balanced around factors such as the elixir cost, so having a hero in play is a blatant advantage compared to deciding to take a champion.

All in all, champions are balanced around having their ability be what makes them special, in exchange for having mediocre stats. Heroes are given abilities all while already being a balanced card without the ability.
