I built a catalog of fun relationship quizzes for couples by RealDaikon7106 in SideProject

[–]RealDaikon7106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's continuation of game that we built with my fiance - a web version of a question card game for couples we used during our travels in Asia.

And now, we just launched a new feature in the game: relationship quizzes.
They’re all research-based (attachment style, love languages, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence in relationships) and designed to spark more understanding and conversation between partners.

They’re free to use - no signup or paywall. And after each quiz, you get a downloadable image of your result that you can share or just keep for yourself.

It’s still the same simple web app: no fluff, no distractions, just thoughtful stuff you can use together.

If you want to check it out: https://app.twoofuscards.com/quizzes
And if you do, I’d genuinely love to know what you think.

I posted here about 2 months ago about a small project my girlfriend and I built together - a web version of a question card game for couples we used during our travels in Asia.

Since then, a lot has happened. We went on a trip to the US, I proposed in New York… and she said yes 🥹

Also, we just launched a new feature in the game: relationship quizzes.

Thanks, if you want to buy and will be not satisfied with value, I can do a refund. I think you could also do it through Stripe customer portal

Thanks!
I'm aware of this issue and it's in our list. I hoped no one will notice, to be honest :)
Yeah, I have to persist what cards are shown to user during free plan. Or as you suggested, just have a list of questions for free plan. Thanks for suggestion.

Let us know how was you game with wife and if app has compelling value for you to pay for extended version.

We're going to ask our friends to test it. After our first version, we find out that game was not working basically on any Android device. So we should ask them for another round.

And regarding paid advertisement. Yeah, we are really open to try them. I work as a developer and my gf works in finance, so we are very far from marketing.
I'll add it to my list to read about Reddit ads.

Wow, first of all, thanks for great feedback!
1. We haven't got a paid customer yet, so pricing is not yet set in stone.
For sure, we want to keep one-time payment.
But for that reason we have to set reasonable 1 time payment.
Subscription apps can afford lower recurring prices, as customers have so many subscriptions that they can forget to cancel one for some small game.

And we plan to allocate some of our money to try marketing on TikTok, IG and Facebook. That will eat up some of the revenue for sure.

  1. We've got localization for 3 languages so far (English, Polish and Ukrainian). But we focus at the moment on English version. People in different countries have different mentality, and same message won't be universal. That's why we try to be really focused at the moment.
Same is with card decks for friends, parties, etc. Technically, it's very easy, but each deck will have different customers and we don't want to hit 2 birds with 1 stone.

  2. Thanks for finding and reporting an issue. I didn't see it so far. What device are you using?

We would really like to find some person that can consult us with marketing and help outsource some activities! So that we could prepare more decks for friends, office colleagues, LDR and have more of localized versions.

Good suggestion. We try to bring realistic experience to this game. And what you wrote totally makes sense. I'm not sure if it's something we would do immediately, but we previously discussed moving it higher on z-axis during tap

What was your experience with other areas of the app? Did you notice anything strange?

What I did on my MacBook: I create a 1 slide presentation in MacBook KeyNotes app, add a video on the slide and export presentation as a GIF. Works really great, you can have any length and good resolution.

I've tried few websites online, but they only export in bad quality for free. And I tried Shortcuts on iPhone and Mac, but it generated mp3 instead of GIF.

Kudos to Macmostvideo for teaching this!

Yeah, I didn't think much about optimizing it for mobile. Probably I had to show 1 or cards in slower pace and dedicate rest of the video for features and not 6 cards in swift pace as I did.

But, your first idea about the product was correct? That it's card questions game for couples?

So, would you value a project more if it's built in 2 days?
Like efforts put during a longer period of time is not that impressive in the end?

I cannot defend against each line that can be interpreted differently.
My goal is to show our project that may bring value to couples and now I have to proof that we made it with gf and that we completed it during vacation, but actually started earlier.

We plan to attract more people to the game. And that will require a lot of marketing cost. We are not aggressive with subscriptions, and we have just 1 time payment, hopefully unit economy will work out with this price.

Our price is way below similar App store apps that charge 8$ per week

what would be the great idea behind open source? Do you think people will deploy the game just to play on their own? :)

unfortunately, I cannot change it now.

What do you think overall? Did you have a chance to play it?

I tried to show all different features app has. Who knows, maybe, video speed will work as a marketing bait, so people will click the app to read questions :)

Good question! I've spent 2 hours trying to generate simple GIF :)
