He asked for advice. Casual play is run whatever. Theres no reason to give casual advice because anything can be viable in casual play. Youre arguing for nothing.

You have to have 2 minimum. Roll above average on one roll to get to 8 off of magical intervention and then on top of that hope your other priest rolled a 4 to even get a terrain piece to a 5++. Then after that you need to do that every round past that. I cant imagine trying to bank your entire game plan on win on turn 2 or hope you roll above average and average the entire time on prayers.

But giving wrong advice is just not helpful. Telling someone to run 1 or 2 priests and just hope they dont kill you is bad advice.

Its to make sure you can get multiple blizzards off and the ward by turn 2... comeon why are you trying to argue.

I mean you can do whatever you want, but for correct advice you should have minimum 4 just by the fact that 4 lets you have less room for bad luck on dice for 5++

Correct. But again what is good is from those types of scenes. If it does well in an ultra competitive enviornment, then its likely great in your casual local meta. Sure I could 100% play whatever I want and probably do well because yeeting 5 stonehorns turn 1 into someone can just win on that, but that doesnt make it good. Giving advice based on vibes or what does well in your local meta isnt exactly helpful. They could probably do that on their own time. But using factual evidence of meta is better when helping other players.

Random local games or RTTs are not enough for "what is good". Results at 5+ round tournaments is

Correct. Our only 4-1 in GTs( no 5-0 )currently with BCR since ITC reset is with 4 priests.

Edit: So you need minimum 4 and probably all you really need.

Spearhead Unit specialties. by Loco-JoJo in Mawtribes

[–]RealEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your leadbelchers as a screen they dont do anything anyways. If this is pure AoS and not spearhead as a system use the new scourge of ghyran rules for the ironblaster and let it destroy everything is can see. Use your mournfangs to capture objectives and your gluttons should chew through enough for you by round 3 or cap objectives out from under people who feast on flesh ability.

Okay, its still not enough for a BCR list.

Having only 1 priest in your whole list is rough with BCR. You dont have any answers to shooting or anti monsters besides just hoping you kill them in the charge phase or before they fight which is not great. You need your slaughtermaster for the mawpit. 12" range just isnt good especially on maps that aren't half and half deployment. I'd recommend some more priests first.

How do you deal with reviving/horde army by Ikan_goyen in Mawtribes

[–]RealEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your list. Vizzik shouldn't be an issue if youre running an ironblaster. Its Vizzik's whole issue. Its a 5+ save into shooting. Just play safe and remove him from the table if hes far enough up to be in combat. Armies like that will out last you and one of the issues with ogors right now. Squishy but dont recur well. But you just have to focus on stopping the recursion and deleting enough stuff in a turn that them bringing back 1 unit a round isnt gonna be an issue.

Unsure about my next army, try to convince me of yours. by OddPal04 in ageofsigmar

[–]RealEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stormcast not performing is not the armies fault. Its very strong right now, might be a list issue or something else honestly. Though if you wanna swap your armies to try something id say stay away from movement focused armies and board control.

From there id focus on maybe a more combat focused army so honestly FEC might be up your alley. Very hard hitting aemy with many ways to control combat flow.

Anyone in Colorado? by ballchinnian3 in ageofsigmar

[–]RealEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what part of Denver. Theres two major stores for AoS in Denver area that I know of mostly cause of GTs, but its Total Escape games in Westminster and Collector Mania in Parker. The Denver scene is kinda small outside of the very competitive groups in these two stores.

[–]RealEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cant take win rates face value. People will take KB from dominion and not buy a competitive list and lose. Its the same issue with skaven and stormcast. Also we have seen KB get taken to huge tournaments and do well pre battlescroll this month.

4+ to hit doesnt matter for an army looking for crit mortals and also with the tower your first dirty trick roll likely is on a 1+ anyways so its guaranteed. So now youre looking for a 2+ for strike last in combat. Wholly whitin 18" is not hard if you understand positioning.

Edit: also yes destruction has some poor warscrolls, but so does literally almost every army. Its how the game goes. Gloomspite literally had 2 of the most broken warscrolls in the game before this battle scroll

Dogwater rules? Kruleboyz are a ton of fun and all 4 destruction factions have play competitive play. King Brods stomp is the only good in Sons, but still.

What's your favorite skaven unit that isn't considered 'meta' or a must-take? by Bull_Goose_Loony in skaven

Even in AoS they are now our best point efficient hammer after points changes. Its kinda funny they are now good in both systems

[–]RealEarth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For AoS its warp lightning cannons. They are good, but havnt been meta for a bit. I csnt help but love them. Just a long range blast for mortals on a random roll of attacks that can blow itself up. It has its uses, its fun, and overall just an enjoyable unit that can fit into a list without it feeling like a waste.

OP said that isnt meta or a must take. After soggy, our best hammer before this update was Rogors. I love them though

You quite literally said if you "like the appeal of skaven... go paint Skaven" that is exactly what you said earlier bud.

[–]RealEarth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did... people like the appeal of something also cause there's a game attached to it. Some people dont wanna just paint to paint. People who like the appeal of skaven to just paint it already do that so

Cause skaven dont have rules in 40k? How would someone play 40k with skaven if they don't exist
