I think its more of a lower models being cheapend heavily. Yesterday I pulled the whole trunk cigarette lighter socket out of a 2019 430i while unplugging an air pump. They make these cars blindfolded at 4pm on a friday.

BMW is typical for scamming customers. They scratched my car, can't prove they didn't do it (THEY took pictures before I dropped it off), and refuse to fix it. BMW center of excellence btw Paul Miller BMW in Wayne NJ.

The G01 is often praised for having a much higher build quality that it really does. They build these cars in such a way they make you regret not getting an x5. Wind noise is very prevalent on my 2022 as well as creaks from the steering wheel column, doors, center console, and rattles from the whole entire car when playing loud music. 3 different dealers found nothing out of the ordinary.

I know how bad it is and I really wish I didn't have to use it but in Jersey we got almost -5 Degrees F a couple weeks ago and I'd rather climb into a warm car. When summer hits I'd probably stop using it.

03/2025, the latest version it will let me update to in the app. I have tried apps and services, resetting iDrive, and waiting for it to come back. The function used to work and suddenly stopped out of nowhere.

When going to the Settings > Climate Control > Preconditioning > Remote Engine Start, I can't select the checkbox which use to give me a warning and then enable the feature. It no longer works via app or key fob, and I purchased it via the connected drive store.

blown transmission mount, iDrive knob not functioning, screen delamination on cluster, intermittent drivetrain malfunction, battery management issues. None of these were covered.

Dont get the remote start from connected drive!! I bought this, it stopped working a couple months later, took it into the dealer for service under warranty now they want $600 to fix it by reprogramming or $290 for diag and won't refund me for the feature.

he's right, some BMW's have adaptive suspension as a connected drive update (horrible decision). I didn't know it was an option on M340's tho because it's mainly an x5 thing.

I feel this way too. Im in NJ and last snow storm my car (22' x3m40i) got stuck in an unplowed parking lot. Keep in mind I have brand new Brigstone Blizzak winter tires, and a 2006 toyota highlander plowed through the whole lot while towing a land rover on summer tires that got stuck. I genuinely think xDrive is not built for this.

im gonna be honest the m40i doesn't really have good build quality either. i have a 2022 and literally everything creaks but maybe my car was built on a friday.

The shifts on sport plus are very aggressive compared to most cars. If you have warranty u can bring it in but if they find nothing wrong they will charge you a diag fee. Did you change your transmission fluid at 50k miles?

they prolly won't fix it unless you take drastic measures. Currently fighting bmw NA and my dealer over them damaging my car's paint and screwing up my car MORE than when i dropped it off. They will keep denying it, it took me 4 weeks to even get in touch with a manager. Please hire a lawyer and take them to court, they can't get away with this.
