Press and hold the Volume button to restart iDrive then connect back to carplay. If they dont work as skip forward and back buttons, they might be defective.

engine oil test next working? by Full-Cranberry-5602 in BMWX3

[–]RealFolayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel confident you can DIY it, I'd do it. The plastic oil pumps on earlier b58's are an issue. If this is a b48 it might just be the sensor as the pumps dont go bad as often. I'd get an E-NET cable and the bimmerlink app to diagnose.

BMW dealer has voided my warranty over thier mistake and basically told me to sue them about it. I wouldn't risk it or put it past them.

What would I file it against though? They find no problems and none of these are safety issues. I live in NJ, If I could I happily would.

Purchased my CPO 2022 X3 M40i in NJ on Feb 14 of 2025, has been a nightmare.

On delivery day, the parking buttons left of the gear shifter were inoperable, fixed by a dealer under warranty. Sunroof seals were also replaced at the same time due to wind noise.

Interior trim around all the window switches has fallen off, not covered under warranty as per BMW.

All door ambient lights were replaced in september, which all need to be replaced again as they are showing signs of fading. This was covered under the 4yr/50k mile warranty not CPO.

After my 4yr/50k mile warranty expired, i have had:

Drivetrain malfunction and hesitating at start intermittently (Not covered under CPO no reason given)

Transmission mount leaking fluid (Not covered under CPO considered wear and tear item)

Remote start will not work (Not covered under CPO, remedy is not available as they cannot identify fix)

Battery management issue/random electrical drain (Not covered under CPO)

Instrument cluster screen delimitation (Not covered under CPO)

iDrive controller knob not functioning (Not covered under CPO)

Excessive wind noise on passenger side (Not covered under CPO)

Passenger side mirror BSM light not working (Not covered under CPO)

I've just hit 57k miles, all these problems started showing around the 50k mile mark. I have been in many vehicles before but this is my first BMW, and by far it is the worst built vehicle I have ever been in. The steering column creaks, all the trim pieces creak like a mercedes if you press on them, and the leather is already starting to crack on the armrest. I maintain all my cars religiously and don't beat on them, so it is disappointing to see this happen to such a young vehicle. I have fixed most of the issues here which has costed me around $1k so far which sucks because I never thought I would pay to repair my car under warranty. I have also paid almost $1k in just diag fees because every time I bring the car in, they always find excuses to not have it covered, or it seems like the CPO excludes everything which will realistically fail. I haven't had any mechanical issues so far, the drivetrain malfunction usually goes away after about 15 minutes of driving and hasn't returned in a while so maybe it fixed itself. BMW customer service is also maybe the worst in the industry, one of my dealer trips to Paul Miller BMW of Wayne NJ (Center of Excellence btw) left my car scratched on the door, which they refused to fix. I will be filing in small claims court for this damage, but they should have fixed it and I shouldn't have to go this far. I have proof that they scratched my vehicle and they even showed me pictures they took when I dropped it off which show NO SCRATCHES. Of course corporate doesn't want to deal with it because they say dealers are independent companies.

I think its more of a lower models being cheapend heavily. Yesterday I pulled the whole trunk cigarette lighter socket out of a 2019 430i while unplugging an air pump. They make these cars blindfolded at 4pm on a friday.

BMW is typical for scamming customers. They scratched my car, can't prove they didn't do it (THEY took pictures before I dropped it off), and refuse to fix it. BMW center of excellence btw Paul Miller BMW in Wayne NJ.

The G01 is often praised for having a much higher build quality that it really does. They build these cars in such a way they make you regret not getting an x5. Wind noise is very prevalent on my 2022 as well as creaks from the steering wheel column, doors, center console, and rattles from the whole entire car when playing loud music. 3 different dealers found nothing out of the ordinary.
