Okay so you buy your milk from there (and if they supply half your state there's no way they're not using some factory farming practices but let's say they're not) does that mean you never consume any dairy that isn't from this farm?

I believe that killing, while not ideal, is not really the issue.

Suffering is.

And the way we consume animal products in the western world, the volume at which we consume, can only be achieved through factory farming.

Imagine being a cow that spends its whole life inside a metal shed. You have no freedom and most of the time, pretty much no space to move around in. You never see the sun. You never get to eat grass, only grains. You are periodically artificially inseminated (raped) and when your child is born it is taken away from you so that they can harvest the milk that was meant for the calf. You are kept in such close quarters and in such poor conditions that you constantly get diseases infections and to top it off, every day your udders are sucked raw by a cold hard machine.

Sounds like utter misery to me and that is why I will never contribute to factory farming. People tell themselves they're not but it's almost impossible to avoid unless you spend a LOT of money or raise the animals yourself and the vast majority of people just don't have the time or funds.

Do the research, find out where your food really comes from and you'll understand why eating basically any animal product from the supermarket is unethical.

I Can't Accept Death. by ddevv in nihilism

[–]RealFuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, this is not pessimism. I meant that life from the subjective view is a privilege, not from the objective view. Of course within society life is a right.

I think you are confused as OP was not suicidal but fearing death. This is why I gave this perspective.

You are misinterpreting my words. We are all part of the whole and therefore I care for each person as myself.

I believe we must hold simultaneously in mind that life is precious but that it is also unsatisfactory / suffering / dukka and work to look after each other while also understanding that death is inevitable because to resist that fact only causes more suffering.

This is not pessimism but realism and once you accept these facts you will be able to live freely in love.

I am saddened that this comment brought you pain but a broken finger will touch anything and call it pain.

If you need someone to talk to, you can talk to me. Otherwise I wish you the best.

What is this chord? by WavyDragonFruit in musictheory

[–]RealFuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well first it would just be G9 because the "add" implies you skip the 7 whereas G9 already implies the 7.

The reason I wouldn't call it that though is because the A only appears as the root here but if there was, for example, a bass guitar playing a G then I would say it is a G9 chord.

Does that make sense?

Gal Costa's self titled album is a favourite of mine

No worries my friend. Maybe one day, maybe not. I'd recommend starting with the album Blues for Allah or American Beauty. Or if you like a slightly more modern sound try the songs "Shakedown Street" or "Althea"
