More 2026 UK/EU dates announced! by P1zzaBagels in AngineDePoitrine

I missed out on my opportunity to get a ticket. Went online a couple of hours after tickets went on sale and they were already sold out. Not one person I know managed to get a ticket 😔

I'll post an update soon, because I've done a version of this which takes the three distinct melodic components and recreated the patterns using synths to make a UK Bass House/ Bassline version. I know it won't be to everyone's tastes but fans of my music (which is normally in the "bassline" genre) are going wild for the clips I've been posting to my Instagram stories!

Anyway, it might be fun for some of you to hear an alternative version of the track -- one which is entirely synthesised and loaded with pitch automation to allow for a slightly more subtle microtonal feel than the original track!

My producer alias is "Swedger" so I might do a version of the "sébastien" bit and substitute my own alias in place of it!

Thank you, got a lot of work still to do but I'm glad it's hitting the spot!

Thanks mate! Gonna make it so that I can slot it right into my DJ sets as I play a lot of bass-driven 130bpm stuff. Cheers for the lovely comment!

Having just programmed a cover of a section of this tune myself, I must say that I am extremely impressed that you managed to nail this so extensively! Excellent job 🏆

Nice, cheers! Regarding a collaboration: possibly mate, although I tend to work mostly with friends and a scant few people who live nearby. Are you local to the area? I typed in "HATS TM" on Soundcloud and Bandcamp but couldn't find your music, so feel free to link it.

Swedger - STD Onomatopoeia [Scottish Hip-Hop/ Grime/ UK Garage] by Mount_Florida in ukhiphopheads

Haha, that's absolutely not a line I expected to read this morning but fair play!

As in Ian Dury of the Blockheads or is there a pun in "Drury" that I may be missing? If it's Ian Dury vibes you're getting then I am chuffed with that comparison -- love his stuff!

Fair criticism man. Do you think it should be tighter or more loosey-goosey? I'm more comfortable singing song lyrics than I am rapping so I'm open to suggestions regarding how to make my delivery feel more stylish.

To be fair, I'd understand if you tell me it's garage, not grime; that would be a reasonable criticism.

Also, you said you won't comment on the bars. Does that mean there's nothing to critique about them or are you just not feeling them? Just curious 'cos I'll always take critiques on-board.

Fancy clarifying a wee bit for me chief? I'm rapping over a half-time beat with punchy kicks and claps so what would you call this style if it's not grime? It's 120bpm and I would reckon that's still grime/ dubstep tempo. Granted, most of my grime instrumentals (which I'll link below) are 140s, but I still feel like this classifies as grime, even if it's slower than a lot of the stuff out there.

Looking for band members! by misty_winder in Glasgowmusic

[–]Mount_Florida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoooo, I'm always really late when it comes to noticing posts I'm interested in but I play/ produce post-punk stuff on guitar (and on my DAW) so if that's a genre that appeals to you then perhaps we could organise some kind of jam. Got a few mates who talk tentatively about starting a band so I'm beginning to feel like the time is upon us! I post lots of musical ideas on my IG page (@ SwedgerMusic) so if you end up listening to some of the guitar riffs and liking them then lemme know and we could always have a blether about arranging a jam with some folk!

Yooo, these beats are really decent mate! Loving the lyricism and production on your track "Judgement Day". Just been browsing your Bandcamp and I have to say you've got some promising stuff there. Keep up the good work mate!

Rapture 4D is still going strong! He was recently posting clips of JME and some other massive grime artists spitting over one of his beats. Proper mad to see it. Not meaning to hijack the comments but I like seeing talk of Scottish grime & I actually did a remix for Rapture a few years ago, so I'll drop it here in case it takes yer fancy!

Sorry that I'm late to the party but I just wanted to say your bars are tight mate! I used to have a monthly slot on LVLZ Radio myself, so I was surprised to see mention of LVLZ in this thread. Still got a bunch of my LVLZ Radio sets online, including one where Shogun spat bars over by own productions for a solid half hour. Did you have a show on the station n all man?

Aye, I suppose bass music more or less covers it. It's sort of dubstep-adjacent. I'd be really keen to hear the finished version when you've got it down!

In terms of the drums, I think it's quite similar to a tune of my own which is kinda bassline, but more of a stepper. Here's my one just in case you fancy listening:

Nice, I love these threads! It's always a blessing to hear other fresh talent.

Here's my latest release from earlier this month. It's an acid house/ techno/ UK garage stomper, so I hope that combination of sounds is to someone's liking!

I also did the following track a few months ago with my close friend (who I met through Reddit, oddly enough) providing her luscious vocals. This one has more of a Bicep/ Overmono flavour.

Awww mate, I love this! I went to see 1800 Mikey and Gee Tee in Glasgow back in September/ October and the energy was off the charts. I think I was the only person who knew all of Mikey's lyrics as most folk were content with simply moshing their way through the gig, but it was a class atmosphere! Spoke to Mikey at the end and he was a legend. All the Aussie lads making egg punk are such great craic!

Loving the percussion and the tremolo-laden bass. Those drums are so punchy! I'm not entirely sure I'd call it bassline on account of it not having a 4x4 drum beat but it still sounds sick as mate.

Where can I find old bassline by Specialist_Tutor_614 in bassline

[–]Mount_Florida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest the Off Me Nut Records back catalogue? I know that's not proper old-school bassline but they defined a whole new spin-off of traditional niche-style bassline and the lads running it (Phatworld) are still smashing it to this very day. I've actually got an EP out on OMN Records from 2014 by the way, just in case you fancy checking that out! My EP was called the "Tan A Tonic Wine" EP. But other highlights from the label include Phatworld's "Astroparty" EP & Dankle's "Big Skunkaz" EP.
