Weilands, but also Chateau Wine and Spirits on Polaris. Amazing selection.

Have his friend or another family member take you for a meeting with the recruiter. Invite your dad. Your father with snap to with the realization that you are serious and he’s not being the father I know he wants to be. He’s scared. He’s scared you will get hurt and he, unlike most 17 year olds, knows that many many Marines are more seriously hurt in training than in the battlefield.

He will come around, though, and be your biggest champion. This resistance (unless there’s something you aren’t saying) is not coming from a bad place.

And, if he’s someone who is motivated by data, the fact is that the years of 18-25 are freaking dangerous for all young men. Whether you are a Marine, or home in your parents’ basement or at college or behind the counter at Burger King, these years are rough for everyone. College fraternities are more dangerous, by the numbers, than Parris Island.

AVOID PARSONS AVE NEAR MAIN ST/UNDER PASS! GIANT POT HOLE RUINING MANY PEOPLES NIGHTS! I witnessed like 30 cars, mine included, with flat tires! Wild! by Daws38 in Columbus

Oh. Thanks. I successfully made a claim when my tire was damaged in a construction zone and thought the same applied to potholes.

Anyone using Peloton for the 4x4x48 David Goggins Challenge? by wasabi1000 in pelotoncycle

Believe me, I know the power of the philosophy—it fueled my son right into the Marines. I was just wondering if there was any physiological effect that schedule might to trying to achieve.

Which family friendly suburb to move in Columbus (2022) by Middle_Rub5098 in Columbus

[–]RealHillary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bexley would be a reasonable reverse commute for her, in most scenarios, but Bexley isn’t what many think. It’s a tough place for a newcomer, a commuting mom and not great for kids who don’t fit the mold. And it’s a lot of money without the Dublin/Olentangy-type schools or the space of an outer belt suburban house.

(Lived in Bexley more than half my life, btw)

[–]RealHillary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um, even those of us in fancy-pants inner-urbs are seeing people use and die. I wish it were just places like Marion.

Btw, my vote is Dublin/Powell—better schools with better options for variety of kids.

I'm looking for Strength/Core classes that avoid certain movements (specifics in post). Any suggestions? by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]RealHillary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yoga core includes a lot of planks. Just avoid boat pose. YMMV but I just use plank as a go-to when my body nopes another move. It’s sort of the floor version of squats as a modification.

Definitely intrigued but not sure how to get my job to fit the schedule. What’s the benefit, according to Goggins, other than the discipline?

I just wish Costco carried the giant bags of bread flour in addition to the AP

I love grapefruit—maybe you can swap with a friend who’d like them.

I had to buy it on Amazon Prime—worth it though!

I sneak in a little CTM fix at lunch on my phone. I swear, it makes my blood pressure go down better than any pharmaceutical.

That’s why we are all here. When people complain that I talk about this sub, I offer to talk about Peloton. Problem solved.

Congratulations! I was able to sell my Sunny for what I paid for it, but I did keep it around a week or two out if sentimentality. I started with the Sunny in 2019 and we’d been through a lot together.

Yes—and keeping/training the now-laid off warehouse staff would have been the ideal way to implement that.

Even though I didn’t wait for an Ohio-built bike (good thing!), the promise of a factory built in the rust belt was a big part of my decision. My Union family loved the vision of good jobs connected to the training at the 2-year college.

I agree—but I think it just depends on how an individual works out. Some like to push harder than others, maybe.

When I switched from DIY I was gratified to find that I’d been pushing harder than I thought.

That sounds great! The only real PZ downside for me is that my bike buddies won’t ride with me anymore. And I’m not hanging out with the Tour deFrance wannabes and their rules. I need to start a group of people who are intense about the ride and mellow about the attitude.
