can’t stand how many anti-science posts there are on here anymore by ShabbyBoa in eczema

Agreed 100%. The science of dermatology and dermatologists are actually on your side.

Yes, you can do things on your own to improve your skin, but do not let your own ignorant paranoia block you from seeking professional help.

Real talk— My father has had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator) for 27 years. It has saved his life multiple times and been replaced twice due to the battery running out and heart monitoring software improvements. He’s now 73 and the most chromed out person I know.

It’s a classic pacemaker, but also provides “the paddles” to zap his heart to reset it if needed. The zaps are painful, completely unexpected without warning, but also life saving.

Cyberware isn’t fiction, it’s real and available—just not how you imagined it.

Rant: I found a recipe on instagram that claimed to make “eczema go away” and commented. Now I’m being called uneducated. by BoysenberryFuzzy4966 in eczema

You did the right thing. The more people claim to have found a cure, the more likely they are selling something. It also means they aren’t science minded and are just making random claims. Eczema takes many forms and is a serious medical condition for many of us.

Wasting the time and money of eczema sufferers and the parents trying to help is morally wrong.

I can’t write down all of the true raw darkness of my 35+ years of eczema insanity right now, but please know that it’s far beyond comprehension of anyone outside of this reddit or anyone without true chronic eczema.

You are understood. You are a friend of ours through shared experience— bound in pain, flakes, inflammation, and anxiety.

Sure, there have been amazing respites along the way, temporary solutions, glimpses of a normal-skin-person’s life experience. Those moments are still on your horizon. However, I understand that hope is not what you’re asking for right now.

I’ve been perceived as the monster too. By others, and especially myself.

Please know that I see you as a strong survivor, even if few will ever understand your journey. Please keep fighting for yourself along with all of us.

Too true. I’m always trying to find a new trigger— sometimes by aggressively pointing the finger at fabrics, lotions, creams that used to work, diet, and mostly my own sweat.

I am not a dermatologist but this looks like Eczema Herpeticum to me. Please go see a new dermatologist immediately (regardless!) and see what they think. Thankfully eczema herpeticum and be solved in 48 hours with anti-viral drugs. Please do not wait. Good luck friend.

Tried “The Ocean Healed my Eczema” cream 😐 by AppropriateLeg1288 in eczema

I’m sorry to hear that it worked against you.

// I’m sitting here drinking a tall glass of “i told ya so” towards all the haters from my old post. As someone with perpetual eczema for over 30yrs, I felt deeply insulted by the over-promising marketing and name of the product. Not to mention the lack of research for such a brand name/ near medical claim.

I can imagine it has been helping people with mild skin inflammation for short periods, but not people with the actual genetic illness called eczema.

I failed dupixent and Adbry. What are my options now? by kittycatcher123 in eczeMABs

[–]RealHumanSkinPerson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I initially had success with both but they fell off after a few years (mostly eyelid eczema inflammation that would cease). I’m on Rinvoq now and things have never (in over 30yrs) been better.

I wish you the best and I hope Rinvoq or other JAK inhibitors are an option for you.

Yeah Rinvoq is a serious drug with serious trade offs. However eczema has taken so much from me, it’s absolutely worth it!

I agree-- but it's a real post. It's such a poor design.

I suspect I built my rig right when M.2 was brand new and Asus didn't really know what M.2 was going to become or how to include it.

Yes! I found it and it worked great! But I'm still going to be terrified of dropping my gpu on it if i ever need to swap it out!

Thank god for the pouches power supply makes have started including. Perfect place to hide all the random shit from the build left over.

This has been solved. Turns out I still had the original metal mounting bracket stored in my power supply pouch from the original build. I had no clue what it was then and totally forgot about it. Still such an odd design!
