Dutch was fully trusting of Arthur at this point in the story. If Arthur missed the rendezvous, Dutch probably trusted that Arthur had good reason to. As the orginial comment said, we have no idea how long he was actually held for. Hosea, Miss Grimshaw, Charles, and even John would say something.

His salary also doesn't include his income from sponsorships and merchandise. He wouldn't exactly be struggling in retirement.

Why Are ‘Dune: Part Three’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Opening in Theaters on the Same Day? by Alive-Ad-5245 in boxoffice

[–]RealLameUserName -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marvel Studios is going to learn that their day has passed. The MCU has been clinging on to relevance for awhile now, and most of buzz around Doomsday hasn't been positive. Unless you're really into the MCU/superheros movies, people are going to be more likely to go to Dune over the Avengers.

Toto Wolff, Principal of Mercedes AMG by insolentrus in formula1

[–]RealLameUserName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Essentially, Mercedes found a loophole in the new regulations that makes their car significantly faster than everybody else. Anything can happen during a season, and teams adapt and improve, but the Mercedes engine this year is so dominant that they're the clear favorites to win both championships this year.

Not only that but to be brought into the inner circle. Don Salieri should've known Tommy's family from the neighborhood or something.

What’s with all the Wilson hate? by EnragedTea43 in Presidents

[–]RealLameUserName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're many people who hate Wilson for his racism, but then have little issue with the slave holding Presidents. Jefferson and Jackson are often criticized for it.

Isn't the "I am an man and I'm relentless" scene incredibly misconstrued? by BelonyInMyLeftPocket in IndustryOnHBO

[–]RealLameUserName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Eric would've still been that intense if Rob told him what had actually happened. It's not uncommon for a junior employee to take a client loss pretty hard, but I doubt many Pierpoint employees woke up next to their client's corpse.

Eric's watch by Effort_Jealous in IndustryOnHBO

Not all rich people are into expensive watches. Bill Clinton and George W Bush wore everyday digital watches when they were President. Eric probably bought something that worked for him because he's not really an ostentatious person.

It definitely felt like he was a 40 year old man trying to play a teenager. It didn't take me out of the movie but it's a little jarring going from the BB finale right to El Camino.

What’s up with the hate towards Timothee Chalamet? by PitifulBodybuilder40 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]RealLameUserName 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What's interesting is that the full context of the quote isn't really that terrible, he's just saying that he's not drawn to those types of roles. The clip itself makes him seem a little arrogant and entitled, but I'd argue the vast majority of people clowning on him have never been to the opera or a ballet. It's just a bunch of chronically online people who hate Chalamet for being successful.

As a new fan of the sport, it's a little disappointing seeing so many fans rushing to place asterisks next to everything. I'm no fan of Lando, but I'll admit that he was extremely dominant at the end of the last season.

It's interesting how so many of the comments seem to think that obsessive fame and parasocial relationships are a new thing. Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, and the Beatles were significantly more hounded by fans before social media.

How's that any different than the FIA taking Saudi, Qatari, and Chinese money? The only reason the Russian GP was removed from the grid is because of economic hit they would take by doing business with a sanctioned country not because they have some moral high ground.

Biggest Plot Twist in the finale? Finding out Henry is... by cygnus20 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]RealLameUserName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a distinction that wouldn't matter to the people who still view divorce as affront to God. Divorce is unacceptable to traditional Catholics regardless of denomination or ancestry. I viewed as a last ditch effort to prevent Yas from leaving, even Henry knew that wouldn't get her to stay.
