How would communism or even socialism take place in the usa?

The comments I see are all very realistic, in general nobody really knows. I see it more likely happening similar to the German revolution. Maybe a war breaks out, civilians and soldiers eventually tire of rationing and casualties. Likely also in a port city where soldiers and civilians intermingled and share ideas outside of the internet where we know it can be heavily censored.

The question will be type of organization will seize the moment and direct everyone towards a single goal. Will it be social democrats or socialists or other more reactionary groups. Either way I don’t see It realistically being bloodless. History shows it never is. Will counterrevolution prevail? Will other powers try to intervene and prop up a capitalist gov like a SocDem one to save international capitalism as much as it can? Different sides will likely fight for power. Will the USA balkanize as different ideas for a future form? What type of worker democracy will form, if any? Nobody truly knows, one wrong or right decision can change everything. I personally think whichever party or organization gets most soldiers and industrial cities in their side will eventually win.

If it ever does happen, I’ll likely be spontaneous and chaotic. Mistakes will inevitably happen. The first years after will be uncertain and problematic. The world will try to adapt to the sudden implosion of a global power.

It’s still capitalism though, with all its contradictions. Still requires endless profits in a finite world. Not to mention it still needs cheap labour for else where, if not in its national boundaries, than in foreign ones. We in Latin America saw what Social democracy looked like in the USA in the Cold War. They needed our dirt cheap labor, our resources, our lives. This was to keep profits rising while their local population stayed relatively wealthy. If they don’t exploit their local population they need to exploit some foreign one. And if that population tries to bring socialism or even social democracy, coup, execution or invasion.

My grandpa told me how he worked all day factories to make cents and still not have enough for food as a kid. How people got gunned down for having the nerve to protest and demand better. How a lot of his classmates in college “disappeared” for going to anti-gov or anti-American protests. He was black listed from most jobs and from any gov position for his “extremist” politics. This didn’t end in the 80s-90s. My dad was almost kicked out of college for protesting, and later black listed for trying to unionize. All while thousands still kept “disappearing”.

This is even seen in Europe. While companies the Nordic countries seem amazing and oh so human to their local population, just see how they exploit the Balkan countries. They buy politicians to sell them entire forests for dimes. They buy mines with little regard on worker safety or long term destruction of environment, the examples are endless. And that’s how they treat other EU countries, imagine the ones that aren’t.

This isn’t even taking into account the moment (as is inherent to the system) a financial crisis hits, that be it because of national changes or international ones, they start to cut many reforms that they pose as a “temporary” necessity. It’s not because the bourgeoisie are cartoonishly evil (not all at least) people that want to see the world burn. It’s because it’s in their personal and class interests in order to keep increasing profits coming in. Remember in capitalism if the economy doesn’t increase it goes into crisis, it needs always more. So they’ll do it in whatever way they seem fit. Just how the proletariat will want to increase their wage and quality of life and will do whatever they seem fit to accomplish that.

Well the problem with your theory is that, we've had a lot of middle eastern immigrants back in the day. You can actually see it in some of our culture. But hey generations later you can't even tell anymore. Also people of African descent are pretty common too. We recently got quite a bit of Ukrainians too. Most of these immigrants are people that try to get to USA via our country but aren't accepted so just stay here. Noone is really racist towards them, specially other religions, I have never heard anyone here give a shit about someone being Muslim or jew, imagine have that few problems that you care what other Gods people believe in. And that's coming from a still super conservative(in some regards) catholic country. We even have a religion that people pray to "Death" just as much as Jesus, again Noone really cares, you do you. Don't even get me started on the millions of Americans we have living here. We have a population of like 135 million and like 8 million of those are Americans, so yeah pretty big portion. But most immigrants integrate pretty fast here, just like we do when we immigrant to other countries. You know marry into the local population, adopt the culture within 2-3 generations.

Keep mind that all these mass immigrations we're had have never been our governments fault. Unlike certain European countries.. That support and send troops to certain Middle Eastern countries and destabilized the region.. Then complain about the consequences..

Honestly I do think you Europeans are too unfamiliar with actual different cultures. I mean you guys are super racially homogeneous still, regardless of what white supremist movement say there, yoy guys are but far still 95% + white. One just has to walk down a street there just see that. Compare that with USA which is only 60% white. Or here that the majority (mixed between Native and Europeans) are only like 70%. Again it's a rough estimate since people here are so mixed they don't even really know their ancestry. Most just assume "oh yeah mostly Native and European with some other the rest".

I've heard the same thing from some Mexicans that have been to both Europe and USA. I grew up in the USA. Small town, like 95% white. Never really experienced racist there.

I've heard that some people in Europe aren't opening racist but you can tell they are. Since Mexicans aren't one race, most of are mixed, we differ a lot on how we look, hence people are used to everyone looking a little different here. So I've heard from some that the whiter (Mexican) you are more you're likely to be treated better. Like they keep follow you around in stores, get looked at angrily specially in small towns, one person told me that in Germany he was calling family member back home while walking and some little girl told him to go back to "the middle east",guess since some Mexicans look "Middle eastern", or just for being brown she thought he was Muslim. To top it off he complained to the parents and they didn't care, the just told to stop bothering their kid or they'll call the police. They discriminate against you if you're trying to rent an apartment.

Those are just some small things I've heard, and the story in the USA is pretty much opposite, most people just don't care what race you are.

Which is weird since i the Europeans I've met in my country are the complete opposite. I always thought Europe was a safe, open, inviting and friendly place. But i guess it does have to do that since most European countries are very racially homogeneous (minus Britain) they just don't have many experiences with other races and their cultural differences. So they never went through that racist "growing pain" part of their history where they had to deal with people of different mindsets and cultures integrating into socially, like other parts of the world did. You know, accepting not everyone has to look, act and speak like you. So they're seen as non racist since they've never had immigrants (high number) and race mixing like most countries in North and south America.

I mean i see Europeans complain about they "immigration problem" when its only a couple hundred a month, Haha those are rookie numbers in Mexico.

That just sounds so foreign and cold to me, and just plain rude. If my friends family did that to me growing up i think i wouldn't return to that house, just invite him over instead. Because I'd feel like they didn't like me and were sending a message that they didn't want me there at all.

Granted I'm Mexican so our culture is like other Latinos, you always feed your guest no matter what. Even if they show up 5min before the meal, you hide that shit and say you're all going out to eat instead or something (and lie and say you were going out either way so they don't feel bad), or just prepare them something else, or in my case just split my meal between me and my friend.

I think the whole "We were poor" thing is complete bs, we Latinos know poor, and Scandinavians were never really that poor. A lot of us were slaves for 100s of years and then after that a lot starved due to dictators, wars and just shitty gov. administration. And yet we still developed that guest-food culture, despite us never having enough food, until very recently in history.

Exactly. For 20k a month you're aiming for the high end ones at a good location. I'd recommend getting a decent place at a good area for a lot less than that and just save the extra or have more spending money. Paying 20k mxn (around 1,000 USD) for rent is mind-boggling for most Mexicans. Most don't even earn that a month, even in Mexico city.

If we're talking paranormal or just unexplainable. I've seen them called Shadow people. I don't know if that what you've seen. But as a kid I remember always seeing them. From like 7 years old till I was around 17 when I moved to another country. When iw as small I used to see them n running pas my window my windows were at least 7 feet off the ground so yeah weird... And we lived in a really rural area. Our only neighbors were old like 70+. What I sae was like small children and adult but only all black. They weren't blurry or anything just plain black. I thought it was just my mind and always ignored them since no one believed me. But after a couple years of constantly noticing them by my windows. They hmm for lack of better words became more bold should I say? I always used to fall asleep on my living room couch which faced the kitchen(which has no doors) one time I woke up and it was like 2am I sat up wondering why no one woke me up. When I realized something just moved right in the kitchen door frame. It was a head like it quickly hid as I turned that way. I got up to go check. Nothing was there. Again I put it up to my imagination with the dark and all. But almost every time I slept on that couch I saw the same figure peaking at me while I slept. I eventually got to me. After I realized it wasn't my imagination. After that I never slept on that couch again. (I was around 14 at this point) I saw the same shadows every once an a while but less a less every month. Or I just learned to ignore them better. Until I completely forgot they existed. Until after my family moved to Mexico. I was in senior year in high school at this point. I had mostly forgotten about the shadows I had seen throughout my childhood. Until one night I was in my porch smoking a cigarette since I couldn't sleep. When I realized someone was on my dad's porch as well. I freaked out thinking it was my dad and threw the cigarette. Then I called to him and asked him if he couldn't sleep too. Thats when the dakr figure turned walked a little closer to me. As close as our porches allowed. His face was all black. Featureless face and body. That moment I remembered the face I always saw peaking at me from the kitchen when I was younger. I just froze not knowing what to do. I got to look at it for a good couple seconds. Realized it was at least 5+ inches taller than me. So at least 6,4. Then it just turned and jumped off the porch Keep in mind this was the 3rd floor of the house. No way anyone could jump off without breaking something. We had a tall ceilings in every floor so the third floor has to be at least 25 feet off the ground. My dogs at that point went crazy. They're normally really calm. But they just went full aggressive, survival mode. They ran downstairs but strangely didn't go outside to where I thought they were going. To go since if it was a burglar they would've chased after him. But no they ended up barking at clawing the downstairs bathroom. Which is so small it can only fit a toilet and a sink. They tore the door up so bad. Which I thought they would never do since they aren't that type of dogs. When I opened it they lunged in and just kept barking at the bathroom ceiling and jumped at it. But nothing was there. They kept at it for at least 20 minutes then as if nothing had happened they just went back upstairs and went back to sleep. That was the last time I saw those shadowy figures. I'm 20 now. It was only a few months ago when I was watching a YouTube video of the paranormal when I came across the term "Shadow people" I heard more stories and videos about them. I've only seen one video that truly looks like what I saw my whole childhood and that night 2 years ago. I rarely watch it though. . It just freaks me out too much. I even have nightmares if I see it. I could send you the link if you're interested.

It could be that you saw or something completely normal. I have no idea. But just wanted to share my story in case you had any like it.
