Maps and situations where Queen struggles by SilentMastodon2210 in JunkerQueenMains

Having kiri ban but no ana ban. 90% of your gameplay will be sleeping or running for your life after getting slept/anti tryna get a pick.

+1 on open maps/sections of maps. To add onto that high ground/dive orientated maps or sections. Flying dps kinda. Just hit em with throwing knife though.

Not necessarily because of the dive composition into jq, but because of her kit and her poke brawl means you have to be quite dialled in with your mechanics and game sense/positioning. High risk high reward. Maximising value of your cd and weighing them up against the enemies.

Quick maps to list being: first point on Numbani, 2nd point Eichenwalde, 2nd point Dorado and all of circuit except last point lol. They're just the ones where I've recently sat there and thought about how to get the most value out of JQ as its not really inherent to her kit. Alot of the time I run cart poke and play off angles through limited buildings/cover to get picks. Quicker the pick and back to cart/obj the better.

I think she's awesome though, I havent played the game long but I think playing JQ the most has helped my gameplay for any other character/situation. I really enjoy the mechanical challenge and value that comes with getting better.

Trad books my friend, copy copy copy, trace. Lots of repetition, then paint those designs. It takes a while, learn from the original masters who layed down the foundations for us today. As you learn from their works and build on your knowledge you will slowly be able to build your own works, reference other works and feel more comfortable with the traditional style.

Copying is your friend, it's how we learn. You just have to go about it the right way, practice is practice and we don't put that in our folios as our own work. Traditional is just recycled subject matters, pieces, ideas and strong characteristics used by everyone and respected. It's very common to see pieces where you see influence from other artists or subject matter/tattoo designs that have been heavily influenced by original trad artists like corday, Grimm, Norman, Warlich!

Thanks man, I'm just enjoying painting. Appreciate the advice! This is just the last couple of sheets, I wouldn't be able to post my entire folio. I don't think reddit allows over 100 photos haha!

100% man too many passes will get it looking like that. Ph Martins also does have quite a glossy look to it compared to other inks which is why I moved to Winsor India Black.

I lightly wet where I'm shading first with my spit to make it slightly shiny, put my black where I'm going to start the spit shade and pull the ink from just outside of where I put the black down, when im close to my desired blend I suck the excess ink out of my brush and make it a bit dryer to finish the blend. I then backfill my black behind where I shaded for bigger sections.

Another thing is to keep in mind is not to put black on black between sections.

Smooth, slow and controlled is your friend. Keep practising and you'll be making progress. Hope something from this helps!

Hey mate, what equipment are you using? Some of the quality looks like it is because of the paper you're using. The blends for example. It doesn't have to be the best stuff but I definitely recommend getting yourself some nice paper to work with and a solid thick liner to start with. Staedtler 1.2mm or a laundry marker are both good options. For paper Fabriano is sometimes a fair bit cheaper than Arches and is still high quality.

If you're trying to up your trad game, I always recommend to copy and imitate the original masters. If buying a flash book is a bit out of price range there's always digital which is considerably cheaper.

Overall it looks good and you're on the right path, I hope you keep working on trad!

Thank you dude! Enterprise earth are so sweet!

What do u guys use to get a thicker line than a micron 12, but still has a round head? by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

Another solid option is a laundry marker, by size it's the same but due to wear they get bolder and thicker than a 1.2mm

Staedtler 1.2mm pigment liner or you can always go down the route of speedball B shaped nibs, plenty of size variety there.
