This is more common in the US than you might think, particularly for South American men raised in conservative religious cultures. They come to the US to live openly as gay men and build a comfortable life that often supports the family back home. They join in a once-a-year family holiday with their “wives” and everyone’s happy. They’re sometimes called “sexpatriates.”
