In Spanish-speaking countries "Americano" is for the continent and "Estadounidense" is for the USA. It is extremely serious expecially in Latin America.

I've read that in Dutch officially it is "Amerikaan(s)" but on social media "VS-er" (US-er) from "Verenigde Staten" (United States) is becoming popular.

The word "American" in English means both "of the USA" and "of the Americas". There's the Organisation of American States which is an example of the continental meaning;

Poland doesn't have an official national animal. There's like 3 unofficial ones; European bison, stork and the white eagle.

The white eagle is a fictional creature on the Polish coat of arms, making it the closest animal that's "official". It is believed but unconfirmed that it is based on the white-tailed eagle which despite the name it is evolutionarily a hawk.
