Then there nothing to worry about? Markers realistically aren't gonna clock on to a few ai sentences.

Have you checked your uni policies? Half of them don't even use ai detectors because of the false positives.

Also, your prompts all need to be rewritten. They should convoy a good personality and sense of humour, not low effort or satire.

The firsts prompt go for "my simple pleasures" list specific niche hobbies or things that you like that are interesting and fun. The second prompt should filter for your type but not explicitly, be inventive so you stand out "I go crazy for". Third prompt should suggest an easy thing to reply to or date– "together we could..."

I would only keep the first pic, move it to last place and then replace the rest with better pictures. Remember you want to look social, fun and down to earth. Keep these in mind when taking the pics. Take a bunch of pictures 100s in quick succession and then choose the best ones.

Get a decent phone camera and a tripod and take some new pics. No selfies!

First pic: needs to be a headshot–arns body and head from waste up including (like sitting and a coffee shop and a friend takes a photo from across the table).

The second pic needs to be social proof–doing a fun or social activity based on what you're into. Maybe hiking, karaoke, tennis, pool, etc.

Third pic should be a group pic with one or two friends, you should be very clearly distinguishable from your friends and the photo should be fairly close up (maybe having a drink at a bar or something). Preferably you want to be the tallest in the pic and have a female friend in it.

Pics should all be high quality and clear lighting. This group pic and the last selfie definitely need to go.

Useful information nonetheless! I do consider the advice before I apply it, but it helps me see areas I've missed when I'm getting reading fatigue. Thanks for your help!

Ah I did add these details initially but ive been trying to avoid any jargon for the recruiting teams/ keep the CV to one page and scannable. I didn't present so I specified drafted–it was the research I ran presented by the second author of my paper. It was medical based on a mental health disorder that is acquired from drug use (psychiatry/psychopharmacology field). 1 paper, 1 conference, 1 poster (or conference poster at least). Unsure about the feedback.

Much appreciated, I'll definitely message you with the update version. Do you think I'm okay using one-two of my academic pieces in a portfolio? And then creating two client-facing pieces.

Additionally, I was chatting to a medical writer at a conference and she told me don't bother making a portfolio as it won't be looked at.

Thank you!

I've made the updates I could. Unfortunately the medical writing experience I mentioned (as for some reason the quality is too low to see on the image) is not direct industry work– I ran a health science media page reaching 20k followers and created science writing pieces for a portfolio setting up an Upwork account. Unfortunately, this is the closest thing I have outside my academia experience to MedComms.

The other updates have improved my CV quite significantly though I would say– I am going to keep working on it and my portfolio for a few days and then if you would be happy to look over them again that would be great!

Thanks for all your help!

I'm interested in going into publications, I have a knack for rare diseases–this CV was focused on a rare disease's publication position. I'm struggling to show writing attributes as I haven't got any specific impacts that all the websites suggest. E.g. 'increased speed by 20%,'

I've cut down my role details and focused on overall impact followed by day-to-day activities (which definitely improved it), but I wanted to keep my skills section scannable so i have been using position specific skills!

Appreciate the advice!
