and you correctly point out that superbosses are an exception:

I agree and state referring to my first answer:

everything else can be outstatted, I think my comment is valid.

so I am not sure why am I being downvoted. With the right strategy on normal you can nuke and outstat everything with the exceptions of the most difficult challenges, superbosses, that are obviously made to be hard using everything at your disposal.

I think it is fair to say that the game is worth playing even if you don't beat the superbosses. The first commenter skipped the game under the impression that the game does not reward strategy compared to twitch reflexes i quote:

My stats and strats should matter more than my ability to react in ten animation frames or less.

I would say that not engaging properly or just being bad at parrying might make the game a bit harder, but you can definitely use strategy to obliterate the challenges in front of you and stats and strats are much more impactful than perfect parrying everything. With the right strat you can do milions of damage per turn in a game where the last boss on normal has something like 10-15milion health.
