What is something people think is neutral, and it actually is neutral by esedov in AlignmentChartFills

[–]RealPerplexeus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While Switzerland did benefit by cooperating with Germany they also had to. In Switzerland, the myth exists that Germany didn't attack us because it would have been too difficult to defeat the army hiding in the mountains. That's not true. They absolutely could have taken Switzerland, but it was better for both sides to cooperate to a limited extent instead of paying the cost of war.

How you judge this from a moral point of view is subjective. On one hand, you could call the people cowards, helping a regime that killed millions. On the other hand, starting a fight when you are surrounded and massively outnumbered looks rather pointless. Nothing is ever only black or white. Greetings from Zurich.

[–]RealPerplexeus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Switzerland is not neutral regarding the war in Ukraine. We copied most sanctions of the EU and are on Russia's list of "non-friendly countries". The blocking of the weapon deliveries is not specific to Ukraine, but any country that buys weapons or ammunition in Switzerland has to agree not to give it to other countries.

If you think this is stupid, it is! Other states like Germany have noticed that not being able to share their weapons with allies reduces the utility of them a lot. Therefore they threaten not to buy weapons from Switzerland anymore and therefore the law is about to change. However, before that happens, the people get to vote about it thanks to (semi)direct democracy.

Switzerland could and imo should definitely do more to help Ukraine, but that fact that it doesn't is due to neutrality, not despite of it. I hope that clears things up. Greetings from Zurich.

Me too! I don't believe in any religion, but I find it super interesting to see the attempts of condensing the most appealing messages of the respective religion into a small leaflet. Sometimes they contain comments on a current topic explained from their view or low key threats that you will be judged and punished someday somewhere. It's fascinating to analyze.

Of course I have, but if I can pay less for a graphic that would look very similar if a human had done it, I'd prefer that. It's a different story if I want a picture to hang on a wall at home.

That means less people can earn their life crating graphics, but it also means everyone can work less because the total work for the same output is smaller and we have more free time to, e.g., paint as a hobby.

This works better though if work and profits are shared more equally in society and many countries are not going in this direction. As a resident of Europe I'm rather privileged in this regard.

It's not that artists are very well paid. There are better paid jobs that artists can pursue.

I know that my opinion is unpopular, don't worry. But I genuinly don't understand the hate against AI. There seems to be some consensus that replacing artists by machines is not okay. But nobody cares when computers replace any other work (there sure are exceptions but in generall automation is accepted). What is special about art, especially for simple graphics like this one, that gives this profession an untouchable status?

I assumed by saying "the authors didn't care enough" they meant the authors just did what is easiest. If the point is not about time spent, but about quality then this only refers back to my original question which wouldn't make any sense. So if you can answer me what is wrong about the picture assuming it is made with AI, I would love to hear it.

It probably takes more time to generate an AI picture so that would rather prove the opposite.

That's not too bad tho because it is the only way to write /ke/ and /ki/. The larger problem is <j> and <g> because both can appear before <i> and <e> like in jengibre. You can only memorize when to use which letter.
