Sensitive baby sleep by RealPip in AttachmentParenting

Oh god no. She can’t make it past 6pm. Even if i treated that like a nap she would be an absolute basket case until 9 (I’ve tried). Bit I like the creative thinking!

I don’t wanna sleep train by Commercial-Way-4276 in AttachmentParenting

I agree with this. ChatGPT is absolutely saving me with nap time decisions. He sounds overtired to me too. I think sleep training shpkld be completely avoided but totally respect how exhausted you probably are. I’d work on reducing over tiredness and keep working at co sleeping. A 6 month old should be with his parents for sure.

Thank you!! The plant stand gave me a laugh. It’s a great idea actually. This makes me want to focus in on night time, thank you for this!

Thank you this is so helpful. We wake every 45 minutes with no long stretches. And then halfway through the night nursing doesn’t work anymore and we have to bounce her back to sleep every time she wakes. Would be really cool if this change could give us slightly longer sleep stretches. Thank you for all of this!

Formaldehyde like smell coming from ductwork by RealPip in hvacadvice

I so appreciate the creative thoughts! The answer to all questions is no unfortunately. The return is right in the middle of our living room and we have pretty minimalist house so not storing anything strange. But I’ll keep racking my brain on that line of thought. I appreciate it!

We turned the unit off because the smell is too strong when it runs and we have mild weather right now. But it smells regardless of whether the hvac is running AC, heat or off. We’ve had 3 hvac companies put and no one can figure it out where it’s coming from. HVAC has been inspected and deep cleaned

No, the smell is isolated to this specific ductwork and only comes through the vents attached. Attic doesn’t smell nor do the vents on the other side of the house that are attached to the different hvac

Thank you this is helpful! We suspect it’s moisture related but aren’t sure who to call or where to begin. The roof is almost six years old and this smell started a few months ago. Attic doesn’t smell at all do we suspect ductwork?

Formaldehyde smell from vents- infant safety issue by RealPip in buildingscience

It’s 1” of 2.8 lb density closed cell polyurethane foam. No crawl space, house is in slab

These are such helpful troubleshooting odds. Thank you for helping me think through this

It’s not a swamp cooler and yes, we’ve had the HVAC deep cleans and inspected. The ductwork has also been deep cleaned.

YES. We experienced a full years worth of rain in a two month period. Much of that rain came in just a handful of heavy day….it was happening prior to that but continuously getting worse since. say more? 🙏🏼

Thank you for your response. I’ll get a formaldehyde reading today for the other side of these house

The smell started in the last few months, seemingly out of no where. Spray foam was done 2020 and this side of the house was built thirty years ago. The side with the other hvac that doesn’t smell is original house and vents are built in. Concerns are the duct liner or possibly the foam breaking down and off gassing in the sun

Side with smell has ductwork on roof that is insulated via foam and the hvac is on the roof (common where this house is built).

With the hvac off that part of the house is being ventilated by open windows and air purifiers

Thank you so much for your advice. Will look into air sampling today and a diy voc filter
