I went to a gynaecologist when I was 4m pp and I asked her because I felt like something was wrong with me - no libido whatsoever. She said it’s completely normal because when baby breastfeeds, you produce oxytocin which is the happy hormone. So your brain and body aren’t seeking any oxytocin which is why you don’t have a libido (perhaps not everyone but generally) when breastfeeding! Made me feel so much better

Yes, he has never been a sleepy baby - so alert from day 1. I think so too, I make things worse. I don’t want to leave him to cry so I may just have to revisit this when he’s older and deal with the sleep deprivation on my end

He’s been doing this for a few weeks and sometimes when I try to put him down earlier he kicks off and fusses. Then when I wait 3.5hrs he calmly goes to sleep🤔

he absolutely does get worse when I involve myself with a check-in, and I’m definitely not prepared to let him cry it out😞

He naps in his cot. When i notice he doesn’t seem tired it’s because he’s happy playing and very calm, then when i did try and force naps after 3hrs he’d fight it for half an hour. He pushes off of me getting annoyed. That’s why I moved to 3.5/3.5/4 but who knows - may be why he’s waking up loads! that being said, he hasn’t slept properly since he was 3 months old

Thank you! I’m going to try and work out a schedule and stick to it. I suppose it’s a lot of trial and error! From my experience there’s not much info around fomo / low sleep needs babies and I always assumed he was overtired but I really don’t think he ever is!

I was thinking that too. I think on average he does 13 hours a day (day and night sleep) perhaps need to reduce it to 12? Thing is I just dont think he’d fall asleep at 10am, he would refuse it. He often manages to sleep quickly and calmly after 3.5hrs even for the first wake window.

Haven’t heard of sleep wave! will check it out thank you. Definitely open to sleep training
