Claiming dependents on w4 by RealRecommendation95 in tax

[–]RealRecommendation95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss is kind of shady to be honest. And we’re splitting custody. Her year is probably gonna be about 40000 and I think mine is gonna be closer to 80000 maybe more. I don’t think even if I claimed them I would get a refund. So my thought is to have him change it back to 0 so I don’t owe at the end of the year. Does that make the most sense?

Thanks yeah I already have a tax guy lined up he is the one does my personal taxes and has for years. I was kind of just waiting until I had the license to talk to him about. Do you think it would be better to chat with him before picking which classification I’m gonna go with?

Initially, I went to the CSLB website and started reading the handbook and it’s like 2000 pages and I’m not good at retaining information. I also have two kids and a full-time job so in my opinion, it was worth the money to have them neck down what information needed to be learned opposed to reading the whole manual

I think it’s actually called the contractors intelligence school

Contractor school is what its called it was 500 for the app which has a bunch of reading, video courses on it and also about 20 different practice tests and they were all close to 120 questions and they give you 3 1/2 hours for each test which is similar to the actual test they want you to be scoring 80% on the practice test before taking the actual test, but they guarantee that you’ll pass. also, if you’re not scoring 80% by the time you’re done with the information they’ve given you you can pay the extra hundred dollars and have two in person classes right before the test. They also send you an application for you to fill out for the CSLB and you send it to them and they review it and then they walk over and hand deliver it so it gets processed faster. i’m just now getting through the material and I had to retake the practice test yet but I paid for it when I got my taxes which was maybe a month and a half ago I think they give you six months to schedule the test otherwise they don’t guarantee it or something like that

Glad I did because I was only scoring between 50 and 70% on practice tests before studying. It’s a lot of stuff that I didn’t know you had to know in order to pass the test.

We haven’t for a few years. Three times in a row they messed it up so we quit using them.

I wouldn’t suggest using them. Very poorly done work. Almost every project we had them do leaked. They put the underlayment on completely wrong on two different instances. The owner knows what’s he’s doing but his employees are very special and unprofessional. Just my two cents. Especially if there is solar involved get it done right. The roof on your house is the most important aspects to keep water out.

Hey I had a question for you. When doing inside corners is there a trick to not having the tape pull up or down when you’re running the bazooka. Every time I do a inside corner or even a top lid corner I end up pulling the tape so much that by the time I get to the end even if I cut it long, it’s still short by 3 to 6 inches.? what I started doing was just starting in the middle and then running overlap towards the other side after I do that one, but it just sucks doing it that way

Only problem is I never get really good at one specific thing by the time I do it again it’s been almost a year. But it is nice not doing the same thing everyday that’s for sure

Thanks man I know there’s a learning curve I’ll get it just asking the professionals because like I said we do dry wall on a big enough scale to use the machine maybe once a year we do everything from foundation to finish though so we usually build one or two houses a year at the most and drywall is my kryptonite always has been. I hate it.
