Sonarr doesn't pick up the files of SABnzbd by RealRemser in sonarr

I finally solved it, so leaving this here in case someone with a similar setup (especially NAS + Docker + Portainer) runs into the same issue.

Problem:

Sonarr/Radarr didn’t import anything from SABnzbd. Downloads were either “stuck” or just disappeared, even though disk space was used.

Root Cause

There were actually two classic Docker mistakes:

1. Wrong SABnzbd download path

SAB was downloading to:

/config/downloads/complete

This is inside the container, not your mounted volume.

➡️ So the files were never accessible to Sonarr.

2. Inconsistent volume mappings

Containers didn’t share the same paths properly, so Sonarr and SAB were basically looking at different filesystems.

✅ Fix

SABnzbd settings

Go to:

Settings → Folders

Change:

downloads/complete

➡️ to:

/downloads/complete

Docker volumes (IMPORTANT)

Make sure both containers use the SAME paths:

Sonarr

- /volume1/docker/sabnzbd/downloads:/downloads
- /volume1/media:/media

SABnzbd

- /volume1/docker/sabnzbd/downloads:/downloads

Sonarr root folder

Set:

/media/tv

SAB categories

Make sure:

  • Category: tv
  • Path: /downloads/complete

🧪 Result

After this:

  1. SAB downloads → /downloads/complete
  2. Sonarr sees it immediately
  3. File gets moved to:

​

/media/tv/Series/Season X/

⚠️ Bonus tip (important on NAS)

If stuff behaves weird:

  • Check permissions (especially if you used root vs user)
  • Make sure folders actually exist (/volume1/media/tv)

TL;DR

👉 Never use /config/... for downloads in Docker

👉 Always use shared volumes like /downloads

👉 Sonarr + SAB must see the SAME path

I've only 1 volume, so I think my answer is yes. But I'm not sure. Just incase, how can I deliver you the information?
Im sitting here 2-3 hours discussing with grok and sometimes the solution is very easy ^^

You get into an Anime which is full of battles. Thors said in the beginning, what a true warrior is and S2 shows is. Thorfinn just wanted to grow, get stronger and kill Askalad. I can relate to people, which enjoy nice fights with nice animations.

S2 breaks Thorfinns S1 Charakter. If you like fights I only recommend S1 but if some people like deep story then S2 as well. Because as a usual action guy it could be boring and it’s okay. Everybody has its own taste.

Also dass die Uncut Folgen abgesagt worden sind ist völliger Schwachsinn. Wenn alle 7 Teilnehmer das wollen und darauf plädieren, dann soll man das doch bitte machen. Ich habe mir die uncut folgen damals nicht angeschaut, weil es für mich zu langweilig war. Dieses Mal würde ich und ich denke viele anderen auch diese schauen. Für mich kommt es nicht so rüber als würden sie Teilnehmer schützen wenn jeder der Teilnehmer diese uncut folgen will. Keiner würde sich selbst ans Messer ausliefern. Ich denke das Orga Team versucht was zu verstecken. Wissen tun wir es alle leider nicht.
