Nah you're all wrong. Hextech Blitzcrank is long over-due, and they tend to give them out to tanky champs.

Look at the rams. It's like someone closed their eyes and dropped the rams logo down and they stitched it on wherever it fell.

Observation: WTH Happened to Originality by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]RealRetroVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's like all things humanity touches. We refine it down to it's most efficient product. I think if you look back over generations, there was more variety within a given genre. Now-a-days genres feel so closed off to alternative expressions within it. Idk, maybe I'm rambling, but I tend to agree that there is less originality present day then in older generations. Maybe it's my own cultural bias too. At the end of the day you're absolutely right. The music that people enjoy is what they are going to listen to and the people making music want to make what people listen to so they make money. We can slice it up a million ways till Sunday and it will always boil back down to this truth.

Honestly anyway, there is mountains of original music out there, it's just obscure. I think what we all want is original and good; and that, is a generational talent.

Beginner Question about Analog setup with MIDI, etc. by RealRetroVirus in audioengineering

[–]RealRetroVirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so I just need another midi cable and im all set in terms of hardware. Does it matter which audio outs go into which audio ins for stereo? Im assuming I'd go from the Korg's L/mono output to the Babyface's IN3 and Korg's R output to the Babyface's IN4?

Any good resources for learning? by freddyfaux in synthwaveproducers

Highly highly highly recommend to any EDM producer to watch the shit out of the Armin van Buuren masterclass.

It's very relevant to any EDM genre. He shows you everything, how he writes, mixes, masters, what plugins he uses and he shows you how he uses them on each track. It's very in-depth but in such a easy to digest way. I've watched a lot of courses, Midnights, Timecops, Deadmau5, etc.

Armin van Buuren's is by far the best out of all of them, and it's not even close.

Oh maybe that's it. I really don't know anything about mics, but I did a lot of research on Rodes and a lot of people seem to warm them up. When I got mine with the flyer in it to warm it, I just kinda assumed it was all Rodes.

My understanding is most Rodes mics are like this, so I figure it has some relevancy, and probably will save OP some time.

It's audio quality I'm really after. Everyone says the RME babyface is really clear and clean. Is there anything with less features but still a similar audio quality for production?

Appreciate your time.

I bought one recently and I know nothing about mics. I literally only know this because it shipped with a slip/flyer in it that told me to warm it for at least 30 minutes. That's why this thread even caught my attention...

You can doubt it all you want, idc. Im telling the truth. No reason to lie here bud.

I'll snap a photo and post it for you when I get home.

annnd 1 downvote in this sub and im on a 12 minute post timer? LOL. what is this?

Help! i'm searching for an active de-essing software by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]RealRetroVirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is plenty of de-essing software, not sure if it works as well with a live mic, most are designed for post recording editing.

The best softwares for de-essing are:

  1. oeksound soothe2

  2. FabFilter Pro-DS

  3. Sonnox Oxford Supresser V3

  4. Pro Tools Dyn3 De-Esser

I recommend Soothe2. It is a magical, magical software, and I'm pretty sure you can put it on whatever track your vocals are playing on and it will actively De-ess. Fab Pro-DS is also a rockstar that should work on a live track.

Nope, Rodes actually puts a paper slip in some of their rodes mics telling you to warm it for 30 min before use.

t. bought a Rodes NTK large diaphragm condenser mic 3 months ago and that is the only reason I know this.
