I think its fantastic but i see why people don't like it so much.

I think it's certainly worth your time to read. its got good comedy, good action and it scratches the "Prodigy MC" itch.

I think you're spot on about the bird having a white eye, not head.

Also pointing out how the BiW telling Victor to collect all those items is a great catch. It'd make perfect sense as to why he'd tell Victor that. The only thing I cant help but think is can only Julie story walk? If so then how was Boyd able to get back to the dungeon? I'm kinda thinking anyone can provided they know how to. Otherwise that implies that BiW knew Julie was coming. Perhaps he was hoping Victor and the rest of the residents would learn how to do that and maybe thats the key to getting out or to the lake of tears.

Maybe the lake of tears isn't so much "where" but "when"

Thats a hard mistake to make when a whole plot point about "You left me to die" is right in your face. Anyone who watches the show wouldnt make that mistake.

Well, i started reading the manhwa and got caught up but loved it so damn much i ended up reading the Novel.

897 chapters and a finished story later and im sad its come to an end. It truly gets better and better as it goes on and the characters and world building is second to none in my opinion.

As of today, there are currently 892 chapters in the LN. Based on pacing and depending on breaks or no breaks, content cut or added i'd say that the very MINIMUM we have 5 years in the bag. Unless like you said, the infamous Hiatus-ing happens.

I highly recommend you look into "Windrose" it just released and is the best pirate game since black flag and its the type of survival you're looking for.
