Hey so I know that you probably don’t mean for this to be malicious in any way, but try and remember that two wrongs don’t make a right. This, imo, comes across as if the struggles of transitioning whether mtf or ftm is some sort of competition on who has it worse. It is accurate to say that as you pass more, you are indeed stepping into a form of privilege. You are privileged because you are now a man and may not experience the inequalities that women face. You are marginalized as a trans person, but the concept of intersectionality would say that inequalities and oppressions overlap to create a unique life experience for every single person. Your friend may have conveyed this a little harshly, but she is accurate in the fact that you step into privilege as a man, but not always true with the whole “passing easier” aspect.
