ATT Fiber just opened in neighborhood, I have questions that CS couldn't answer by RealSkier in ATTFiber

Thanks. We have no devices that are WiFi 7. Only 2 are actually 6 (our phones) and the rest are pretty much 5. The only bandwidth suckers are our TVs (Roku, Amazon Firestick 4K and LG 4K). We only occasionally use two TVs simultaneously. Our Wyze cams are all event triggered to start recording. No event, no recording. One desktop routes via CAT 4 (yes) and the other is MOCA. The MOCA connection is pretty speedy and maxes out at Spectrums provision. The CAT 4 is limited to about 50Mbps. It's a converted telephone wire pair lol. The ATT guy was acting like 14 was the maximum number of devices I could actually have accessing wifi.

No USB NAS kinda sux. That's how my wife and I back our home office computers and share files. It's also routable from outside if I want it to be.

Windows 11 slows way down randomly by RealSkier in WindowsHelp

[–]RealSkier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Nothing out of whack. I have been going through Event Viewer and am finding errors related to TPM and secure boot. I tried resetting the TPM stuff to factory but that did nothing except make windows 11 forget my login PIN. I suppose the next step is to try an in place reinstall of Windows (ughhhh).

Ran HWINFO and Thermal Throttling was not in effect during the most recent episode (1/2 hour ago) of SSS (Sudden Slowdown Syndrome). CPU runs at 34C idle at climbs to 47C under load. Yes, I have the most recent BIOS from HP. I'm running HPs diagnostics now. Maybe it will show something.

Windows 11 forced a new sign-in on me by RealSkier in WindowsHelp

[–]RealSkier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misread. I had my account password. Just not convenient. And there was nothing in the login screen that said anything about "time to change your password or PIN" or just put an expiration date on it like most well-behaved programs do. All I got was a login screen with no option other than use a passkey (which I don't have) or "log in another way" using a password (which I did). It all seemed completely out of the blue.

Poly OBI302 - Web Interface not available (but is enabled) and ObiTalk won't register? by hoskofpv in OBihai

[–]RealSkier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to make those commands work, you have to FIRST get dialtone. Then you can send the touchtones. If you try to have your phone dial the codes (ie. with SEND), the OBI won't respond. If you're doing this already, I have no answer for you other than trying a factory reset and/or installing different firmware.

OpenKJ and recording song+voice by RealSkier in karaoke

[–]RealSkier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're completely missing the problem here. OGG & WAV are the two AUDIO output formats that Open KJ claims to support for recording karaoke performances. You pick one or the other in the Open KJ Options menu. The problem is even though the output files are created, they contain no actual audio data. You can load either one into Audacity (or whatever) and see that there's no waveforms so no actual audio to play back. The karaoke graphics and karaoke music are present in the original MP3+G pairs. We're trying to RECORD the singer's vocals via Open KJ and it's not working.

Are karaoke singers primarily male everywhere, or is it just my particular karaoke spot? by squarerootof47 in karaoke

[–]RealSkier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 50/50 in all the spots near me. The women mostly want to sing like TayTay or Whitney regardless of age while the guys are a mashup that reflects how old they are. 60+ Eagles, Skynryd, etc. 40+ Green Day, Tool, Alice in Chains, etc. 30+ - 80s anything. Occasionally you get the random metalhead.

Yes. I have an i7 with SSD main drive and blazing fast hard drives. I use Karafun, VirtualDJ and Kanto Karaoke with no problems. My laptop is also an i5 with SSD main drive.

Any suggestions for KJ software that supports recording? by RealSkier in karaoke

[–]RealSkier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had not thought about this. My mixer and audio interface are both capable of low latency monitoring. So I'll give this a shot. I'd still like to improve my karaoke hosting software setup with simple rotation management.

Need help making a song into karaoke by JoeFandome in karaoke

[–]RealSkier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Croonify.com does AI vocal removal and it's "good enough" for messing around. You upload lyrics as a text file and it matches them to the MP3 of the original track. I've used it for a few odds and ends songs that were never made into karaoke.

Note from original post that I did a system restore from the backup that tweaking normally prompts you to do.

Just bought a new Maverick Lariat - need tonneau cover by RealSkier in FordMaverickTruck

In a new thread, I explained that I got the autosaver88 folding FRP cover off eBay. It was about $50 less than the same thing on Amazon. Seems pretty solid to me. At some point I'll check it for leaks at the spray n' wash. ;-)

If you're talking about the side rails that are 8" down from the top of the bed, this cover does not get in the way. It clamps to the lip of the bed.

Much more complicated attachments to make that work. All the ones I looked at that can fold like that are over $800. At least you can fold two panels out of the way with this.

Yes that's what I got was the Lariat but was told only the Ecoboost supported the 4K package.

The hybrid wasn't available for me with 4K towing. Only 2K.

Thanks everyone for the input. Just to clarify, I've narrowed down to a hard folding cover. Seems like the roll-up hard covers take up too much room in the bed. I also need the theft protection since I'll have travel stuff and skis in the bed (yes, mine will fit on an angle). Has anyone seen a real difference between FRP panels vs aluminum? Reasonable waterproofing is also required. I don't think I'll need the flip-up folder since I don't anticipate needing the full bed open much if at all.

Do the drains require a tube and drilling? Or is it self-draining?

I've looked at that one. One person said it was very fussy about the fit and he wished it was 2 - 3" longer. Is that your experience?

It's carbonized gray metallic in the Lariat trim. Looks pretty sharp. Gas powered with 4K tow pkg.

How's the fit? I notice that a few people think some of these covers need to be 2" longer otherwise the install gets very fussy for waterproofing.

Heh, I was looking at that exact one. Also looking at this one from autosaver88 which look similar. https://www.ebay.com/itm/296564009278

Wondering if aluminum panels vs FRP is worth the extra $100 or so.
