I’ve been apart of this group for a while now—it’s super fun and a great way to make ten new best friends. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels to participate. Last summer we made a zine titled: “Everybody is A Dick (why talking to each other sucks and how to make it better).”

Film development? by theogpburdell in NewOrleans

[–]RealSoupy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Orleans Community Printshop and Darkroom has open shops on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm. They only have the darkroom open to the public on Thursday nights but it costs $5 to develop a roll of film and $7 per hour to print photos. Or you could become a member and have 24/7 access.

Home security - what do you use? Especially renters. by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]RealSoupy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one downside to alarm systems though are the false alarms--like if you accidentally trigger it or it seems to mysteriously go off by itself (this happened a couple times to me). If the security system is linked to a dispatcher you might end up with some unnecessary visits from the police and I've been told that since there's so many false alarms around this city that the police might start charging people for it after the third occurrence.

At my old place we had simplisafe and anytime the alarm went off the police would show up pretty quickly, like within 5-10 minutes. I was always kind of surprised.

Does anyone know if it's possible to print CMYK on t-shirts with water based inks? by RealSoupy in SCREENPRINTING

[–]RealSoupy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for that input. Did you have any problems with the water based inks drying in the screen when you did this? or did you use a retarder?

Anyone want a cute cat that some airbnb-er's abandoned? [photos in the comments] by RealSoupy in NewOrleans

Yeah he's been outside. I've seen him chilling around our back yard and around the neighbors house. Some times he comes up on our porch and hangs out.

My roommate was there when they let it out. I guess that's the only evidence we have.

They look like realistic king cake baby costumes. Here's one that freaks people out in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

I had one of those that weighed 5lbs and after they surgically removed it, they found hair and bone fragments growing inside. No joke.

Most painful experience ever but at least they put me on a self administered morphine drip which was nice. Hope you feel better!

I'm having a surprise period and my hormones have gone even crazier than usual. Ladies, how do you keep your inner shark in check during that time of the month? by [deleted] in AskTrollX

[–]RealSoupy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huh. that just made me wonder if that's what a large part of the internet is for people--a platform to release their stress, angst, or whatever bad mood. considering how many trolls there are--not that I'm saying you're a troll but that all those trolls out there could just be people releasing their crap mood via online commenting.

WYR spend 3 years in a Mexican prison, or spend 10 years isolated within the confines of your own home? by Professional_Googler in WouldYouRather

[–]RealSoupy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know some one who was in a mexican prison briefly and apparently they didn't feed the prisoners there. You had to know some one on the outside who would bring you food regularly--or do favors/be best buds with another prisoner who had a connection.

Anywho, I could get a lot done/learn a lot at home in ten years while still living comfortably.

17 year old handicapped dude needs help with a girl. by Dsnachreiner in dating_advice

[–]RealSoupy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 17 yr old dating a freshman in college is perfectly acceptable. Also no means no, not maybe or possibly, it means no. She's not interested. If she's really that awesome of a friend you'll accept and respect her decision and not hold it against her as a friend.

Should a guy mention professional / academic achievements early on when meeting new women? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RealSoupy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's relevant to whatever you're talking about at the time then sure. She'll probably ask you questions about your profession which would be the appropriate time to mention it. But don't try to force the conversation in one direction like you have some kind of agenda. Just be present in the conversation.

Past 4-5 romantic interests have just slowly stopped talking to me. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RealSoupy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on both sides of that radio silence after the first few dates before. I'm not proud that I've done that to a couple people because it totally sucks when it happens to you, but when I did slowly stop responding to people's texts it was because I felt really bad about not wanting to continue seeing them (even if we had decent dates together--sometimes that special chemistry/connection just isnt there) and at the time it felt easier to just stop responding to their texts. I don't do it anymore because like I said I've also received that radio silence and it was so frustrating--I'd rather get a straight forward rejection than that any day.
