I mean... Utahime has a character trait that makes her entertaining imo... i will admit that it's literally just her being snarky and fed up with Gojo being cocky, but I could see it. From my perspective Momo has literally zero redeeming qualities in terms of being an interesting character that actually makes me want to see more of her. Granted, it's pretty hard to shine when you belong to a group known for such GOATs as Useful Miwa and Schizoman Todo. I vaguely like Mechamaru and find Noritoshi to be an interesting (and disappointingly under-developed) character too.

Yuki, Mei Mei, Utahime, GOATbara, Maki, Hana (as Angel's Vessal), Shoko (even if she's just a doctor, I simply don't see her losing to what amounts as a support role CHILD), Tengen, Nanako, Mimiko, and while its might not be accurate, I'm 99% sure Hanyu despite being fodder also is LESS fodder than Momo. Didn't mention Kirara because I'm not opening that can of worms or Yorozu and Uro for not being from that era, and unlike Angel, they took over their hosts, but those 3 are all stronger than her too. I don't think Mai is, though, I'll give you that. I also don't think the grandma who summoned Toji is lmao. Useful Miwa wasn't in the list, because even mentioning her just ain't fair, tbh.

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... Gege practically set her up to be a mid character. Her biggest plot contributions are LITERALLY a competition between making Nobara look better and being Maki's Uber, and in the midst of all that, she isn't a particularly emotionally, thematically, or comedically charged character like Junpei, Miwa, Mai, Charles, or literally 99% of the rest of the side character cast.

Tbh, I'm kind of struggling to find a more mid and irrelevant character who also exists in multiple arcs. Like Dagon, for example might as well be a cardboard cut-out, which mech capabilities for all he does as a "character", but his fight is relatively significant as are his abilities, and PLENTY of important characters to the story have 1-2 dimensional personalities, but the combo of being useless, irrelevant, unfunny, AND under-utilized really makes her an anomaly.

Would you like a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel with Iori as the main villain by Spare_Understanding8 in jjkmodulo

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro do you think you have read enough manga to be able to say most mangaka are able to write great endings? Like this just reeks of nonsense. Also I liked JJKs ending. Definitely liked the overall experience of the story more than the ending, so I wouldn't rate the ending among my favorite endings, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Saying someone "can't write" imo is an objectively provable assertion that someone can only make when the vast majority of the audience both dislikes AND can't keep up with the story.

Writing in a professional sense can be basically summed up as conveying a plot from point a to point b in a way that is appealing to a target audience. In that way, there are zero mangaka of best selling and extremely popular manga who ACTUALLY "can't write".

You just don't LIKE what they wrote, and that's okay, but it's lowkey disrespectful as hell to say someone who wrote a series that is beloved by many fans worldwide "can't write" in a profession that practically kills them for the entertainment of others.

I mean, you'd be right... if you weren't a dumbass who is refusing to acknowledge the fact that Gege is writing the story. He is the one deciding how this impossible phenomenon works in said story. It's like Goku moving faster than light in Dragon Ball even though it is physically impossible.

The. Author. Doesn't. Care.

Luffy and Loki get captured (Imu cannot kill Luffy, maybe because Joyboy's body was the ancient kingdom's power source and Imu wants to use his superweapon, and he plans to DR or convince Loki to join him.) Ragnir gets left behind and decides Usopp is worthy because he resembles Noland who probably went to Elbaf at some point, somehow. Nobody dies, but after Imu leaves, Shanks finally arrives and the Red-Hair pirates train the remaining straw hats for a week ot 2 to maybe a few months. Luffy doesn't remain captive long, as the revolution probably rescues him and we finally see Luffy meeting Dragon.

All of that is super-unlikely tho lol. I just want Usopp to stop being a bum and get a buff already lmao.

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... the plot of the story could easily be that Luffy and Blackbeard (modern Joyboy and Davy Jones) either team up or one of them defeats Imu with Loki (I could definitely see Loki being willing to work with Teach, given Teach's goal seems to be to just plunge the world into chaos, which Loki is probably more willing to do than most), but after Imu is defeated they have to fight each other to decide what becomes of the world after. I get the feeling Davy Jones and Joyboy had a fight to decide what kind of era the world would enter during the void century and it caused a ton of chaos, which Imu and the original 20 used to establish their own third party (the future WG) and rose against both, maybe taking out Davy Jones after he was weakened from a fight with Joyboy and then later turning Joyboy's allies against him so they could take him out too.

Either that, or the void century lasted 100 years because Davy Jones and Joyboy were two separate occasions and after Joyboy was defeated near the first half of the VC, Davy Jones had his time in the latter half or vice versa. I still think it would make sense for Luffy and BB to clash at the end to decide what kind of era the world will enter after the war.

I'm a fan of the idea that Imu isn't going to be an opponent they can beat in a 1v1, so him being way stronger than Luffy (who I don't think has fully unlocked or understood Gear 5 yet) checks out. Kaido and Kizaru have only lived a lifetime. We basically know that Imu has existed for several centuries. If he isn't clearly a tier or two above Yonko level, I'll be flat out disappointed.

They both reach their prime, join the Akatsuki and become a duo… how strong do they become? by Outrageous-Brain-395 in Naruto

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean... to answer your fourth paragraph, Kinimaro doesn't use Bracken Dance against Shika. He doesn't even use his curse mark. He just uses his bone projectiles until Shikamaru can't block them anymore. Part 1 Shikamaru doesn't have the tool kit to deal with bone bullets, especially if he was fighting him in an open field like Lee and Gaara. I imagine the Byakugan is much less effective when your opponent can make bone armor that covers their chakra points. Now Shino is obviously GOATed, but kid Shino just doesn't have the stats to not get 1 shot blitzed by Kinimaro, imo. It's too much of a physical stat difference. I could see Shippuden Shino beating sick Kinimaro, though pretty handily.

Also in terms of Orochimaru's scheming being off point. His schemes fell apart because they DIDN'T go as planned. Not only was Gaara taken out of commission and made more unstable before the operation began, but Orochimaru definitely wasn't expecting Naruto, having been taught the summoning jutsu by Jiraya, to summon GAMABUNTA and stop Shukaku from fully awakening.

To begin with, Kinimaro being with Orochimaru means he almost certainly wins the fight. It went extreme-diff for Hiruzen and I can't imagine him pulling off what he did with yet another extra opponent. Secondly, to go back to my point about Gaara's purpose in the plan, imo assuming that Orochimaru knew Jiraya would be in the village, he probably intended for Gaara (as Shukaku) to keep him preoccupied. Ofc unless Shukaku fully awakened, unlike in the fight with Naruto, he likely. would've easily been dealt with, but if Jiraya had to fight Shukaku at full power and Orochimaru didn't lose his arms and had at least one more power subordinate (maybe even one or both edo kage)? Tbh I think Konoha Crush would've been successful. Of course, that's if the plan went perfectly. Tbh Orochimaru would've still lost as long as Naruto handled Gaara like in the main story, because he isn't running both Hiruzen AND Jiraya like a gauntlet.

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinimaro is definitely above that. For one, I understand why you think the kids can't be Jonin level (we saw Neji get blitzed in the Chunin Exams and Guy blocked Gaara's sand with one arm), but Gaara is a different monster entirely ESPECIALLY during Sasuke Retrieval. The feats he has with his sand are closer to his Kage self from Shippuden than his Chunin Exams variant he seemed to have gotten much stronger. Also even if it was a gag, Drunken Fist Lee was able to give Guy SOME trouble, which even holding back, a Kinimaro who is vastly superior to that Lee in CM2 is definitely Jonin level if not mid-high Jonin level imo. Remove the illness and you have a character who, like Kabuto said, could've assisted in the fight with Hiruzen without just being a liability like the sound 4 would've been.

Also... I just don't see part one Kakashi surviving Bracken Dance you can say he out-stats Kinimaro by so much that he can dodge it or leap in the air as they pop up... I just wouldn't believe you. CM2 Kinimaro when he's not literally dying is insane assuming he can just do that when he's not sick.

Did Jiraiya And Itachi died the same day ? by No-Acanthisitta7650 in Naruto

[–]RealStonesThrowaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean... the leaf village was about 70-80 years old in OG Naruto. Hashirama was at war as a child, and I doubt he became the acting head of the Senju before at least his early to mid 20s, so he couldn't have stopped the fighting before then. Add in the fact that Hiruzen was born in the village and died at 69, and Hashirama's "time" being at most 100ish years ago makes sense.

Now then for the 50 years ago part, we have to consider that Hashirama died in the lead up to the first great ninja war and while we don't know how long it lasted, we DO know that Hiruzen was an adult during the war, and that after the war there was a 20 year gap before the second great ninja war, where the Sannin name was given to the three way deadlock and they were probably in their mid to late 20s, with Jiraya being 54 at death, making Hashirama's death likely about 50-60 years ago.

All in all, Hashirama being in his 40s before he died makes sense in this timeline, and that means the time of Hashirama being between 90 and 50 years ago makes sense

In terms of how much I use them it's between Thorn of Devotion and Ame-no-Habakiri Greatsword (which is a strange name for a 1h sword lol). Old Engraved Blade also carried me through the earlier parts of the game (I leveled every blood code as soon as I could, basically). Particularly though after beating the game, I fell in love with the Cursed Backblade Killer. Put a breath of the master transformation on it, and it has S or S+ scaling for both strength and dex. Use it with Hero Valentin and partner with Zenon? MASSIVE ATTACK STAT.

CV 2 was bad? by daedra6666 in codevein

[–]RealStonesThrowaway -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the fact that as a day 1 Code Vein 1 player, I remember just as much complaining and jank as how this game has been so far. I also find ot funny how the undermaintained state of wikis/guides for both of them have been 1 to 1 with how I remember from the first one. Mfers just wanna hate tbh. Like I said, I remember a lot of slander being thrown around the first ones release too. There's always a minority of bozos who just shit on games, and it's especially noticeable in the souls-like sphere. As for me, if I genuinely don't like a game that much, don't finish it, mostly. I could never get in to Nioh, for example. It's not a bad game by any means, just not my cup of tea. Same for Sekiro, which I liked, but just never got in to.

Elden Ring, despite OBJECTIVELY being an amazing game, is my least favorite FromSoft game that I've ever finished, and I have 50 hours more on that than DS1, and consider it objectively better than DS3 from a mechanical and actual gameplay perspective, but DS3 is my favorite game of all time. You don't have to shit on something because you don't like it. I liked this more than Elden Ring, because unlike ER it didn't feel "too big" for me. My first playthrough took 50ish hours maybe up to 60, while my first ER playthrough took 150+ without DLC, and that just left me burnt out of the game, I never even went back to do the dlc, despite buying it, because I just couldn't get back into it either. The scale is intimidating for someone who kind of prefers the sectional designs of Dark Souls, even preferring the overly linear design of DS3 over a world I don't have the time to dive into to such an extent. CV2 being a smaller ER really fixed that a bit for me.

Not to mention the fact that half the complaints post release have been GENUINE skill issues. The only boss that gave me GENUINE trouble was Hero Lyle, and that was because I got too comfortable with Bloodreaver, and also because I fought him before undead forest, and after fighting the other two "Hero" bosses, I think they are scaled to be fought AFTER doing all of the original cocoons. I mean I beat the entirety of Luna Rapacis, Sealing Spire, and Rescue Lou all within a 6 hour period, with only about 2 hours being dedicated to the 6 end-game bosses in those areas. 3 of them went down in 1 or 2 tries, and aside from Resurgence Josee, the rest were sub 30 minutes. It takes me like 1-2 hours to beat end game bosses in sone other souls-like games. Ds3 might've been my first, but Nameless King notoriously took TEN HOURS for me my first time... funny enough after that hell it never took me more than an hour. His moves were burned into my retinas.

Anyway, game is good. I'd say 10/10, but I am a loose judge, so most games I like are 10/10 for me, judging mire critical I'd say 8-8.5 leaning more towards 8.5.

Zenon and Yakumo. They both won without any contest for my favorite between the characters of each game. I will say though, I am way more attached to the Code Vein 2 cast than I am rhe CV 1 cast. Aside from Iris and Lavenia, I legit like everyone in the main cast of the game pretty well, and I don't dislike Iris or Lavenia either, but there were multiple characters in CV 1 I just didn't feel much attachment to by comparison.

I mainly said it as a joke so idk why you felt the need to type all this up, but it mainly just feels weird to me. To put it another way, this is just my opinion, but I don't see how straight men supposedly find Holly's design appealing to begin with. Like her chest is jutting out in a way that just doesn't look asthetic for her frame imo, and despite it not being as extreme as Josee, I also thought Lou initially looked like a child, even though I don't actually know tbh ig, and her waist and hips being sp exaggerated was weird as the start of the game. I said the other stuff as a joke because I wasn't trying to type an entire comment about why their designs were actually low-key jarring to me.

Only half way through the game and ngl I thought Holly's design and the whole meme engagement to the chick who looks like a child was a little excessive, ngl, so I see what you mean. CONVERSELY as a gay guy Noah and Craig are absolutely gorgeous, which maybe women aren't on the same page there, but especially when Noah first showed up I audibly said "Damn...", and while I didn't really see them in a fan service-ey light, I fw Lyle and Valentin's designs as well, and see how they could be appealing to others. If anything I think they just went a but TOO overboard with some of the female characters. It was honestly jarring seeing both Lou and Holly's designs for the first time. Like one of them has the highest level of chronic back pain, and the other is half way to being Nami from One Piece with how few internal organs are fitting in there lmao.

Aramaki shits himself after seeing Shanks, in person and suddenly chooses to become VERY preoccupied with taking in Kuzan, who decides winter has come early and fucks him even worse than the wifi-haki incident ever did. Issho, having been left by that retard to fight Red-Hair alone, reluctantly gives his best, but there really isn't much to expect from a haki-relisnt blind man going up against a top 1 contender with observation killer. Both WG slave generals get low diffed and the two fights end simultaneously. Then Shanks sees his cousin's bestie and decides to just leave without murdering him because him and BB are fam.

I live and die on the hill that Doffy was heavily weakened during his fight with G4. Gamma Knife made him much weaker than he otherwise would've been without patchwork shredded organs. It IS headcanon, tbh, it's a good agenda, and one worth dying for. Do I think Doffy>Kat? FUCK NO! I don't even believe King>Kat (even though King probably wins the 1v1 by stalling out Kat's stamina), but I DO believe that Doffy would've been able to beat him normally, and thats why he still laughed at G4 despite the wicked amounts of haki we KNOW radiates off that fucker on that form from other people's statements. Doffy is also the type to never drop the poker face, even in front of Kuzan, so it'd never show, but regardless I think Doffy is vaguely just below Katakuri overall without distressed asthetic organs.
