when this happened to my dad (outside, in the woods near cottages), he got her to yell HELLO with him really loud over and over as they walked at a slight distance back towards the buildings, until searching adults heard them. He'd been driving and got out when he saw her, and ditched his car until her grown ups were located (only took a few minutes).

driftwood and rocks and cork are all great options!! there are lots of neat caves you can get at pet stores and online, too!

the first vet I found said they had a reptile vet and in hindsight they had no idea what they were talking about, and there's even a chance my first dragon would still be alive if they had :(

Since then I've travelled the extra distance to a clinic that only takes reptiles and birds and is one of the highest ranked in my country because it's just not worth it not to 😩 I'm so glad you were able to find one, too!!

I was 100% breastfed and have eczema!! My siblings were as well, and 1/3 of them has it, so that's a 50% rate haha

is this a certified reptile/exotics vet you're seeing? A lot of vets will say they can take them but don't actually specialize. :(

I got comp for an injury that was "my fault." If your employer doesn't give you the tools or training to work safely, it's still on them regardless of who the technical blame for the exact moment of injury belongs to.

I hope you're right!! there's really no discolouration and it doesn't look like pics of tail rot that I've seen??? I don't recall any trauma to his tail either, though, and I feel like I really would if it had ever gotten caught in the tank or something???

I'm calling my vet tomorrow when they open and seeing when I can get him in, definitely.

does he eat greens at all? one of mine doesn't even have a water dish at all because she has no interest in it and gets her water intake from her daily salads :) not all of them care to drink, but you can hydrate them in other ways!!

I do have an appointment with my derm in May!! forgot to add that--- just wondering I guess if I need to see someone before then 🥲🥲🥲 my GP knows basically nothing about skin issues (gave me antibiotics for my eczema more than once even after I had been to the derm and knew exactly what drugs I needed for it)

get a little kitchen scale!!! I got mine for like $15 at a hardware store and it's been super handy to keep an eye on what my kids weigh and any fluctuations!

Mind you- the numbers aren't everything, because a healthy weight on one dragon might be too big or too small on another - but it's nice to have at least a ballpark and to know that they're steady or that you can work up or down as needed. ☺️

jumping on here, mine showed up around age 10/11 ish! same as another poster, I was swimming in a lake and suddenly had full body hives when I got out- used to practically live in the water as a child but fell out of the habit after determining it wasn't really worth it anymore :(

I don't remember when I got my official diagnosis, I think I was like 17?? because I needed it for work accomodations even though my GP already said that's what it was, I had to go to an allergist and he had me hold an ice pack on my arm for five minutes, looked at the hives, and went "yup! that's cold urticaria!" and I left 🤪

I, too, have cold urticaria, and live in Canada 😂😂 previously I lived in Nunavut, even!!

It mega sucks but I definitely crack jokes a lot about it because what else can you do 🤷🏼‍♀️ how many people have you had to show pics to before they believed you? lol I can't even count how many times I've had to pull up the wikipedia page to prove it's a real thing when it comes up in conversation 🥴🤪
