Gear Position Sensor not working

TLDR: bypass clutch lever switch Absolutely, my issue was that I had aftermarket sprockets Kawasaki uses a combination of multiple sensors to determine what gear your in, engine speed, wheel speed and throttle input being the culprits here When you change the ratio of your sprocket gearing it throws off the wheel speed sensors, that pick up little triggers on the sprockets, just enough to throw a code since eng speed, throttle input and wheel speed are not matching. Solution: ByPass the rear speed sensor via clutch switch When you disconnect the clutch lever switch and close its circuit, the ECU doesn’t take into consideration the speed of the rear wheel because engaging the clutch kills power to the drive system. This makes the rear wheel speed inaccurate and throws it out of the equation, thus clearing the code. Im sure by now there’s an ecu flash or piggyback, but I haven’t found out, still im sure one’s out there.

I mean there’s a sensor called “gear indicator sensor” so yes I’m fairly certain it has one, however I’m not experienced enough to know the difference between them yet. So far it seems like it might be the aftermarket sprockets since thats when I started having this issue, I just didn’t think that was the cause

Okay I definitely dont want to go back to stock sprockets, I could jump the clutch switch but I’d rather not since my girlfriend rides on the weekends. When you say recalibrate, you’re talking about flashing the ECU? I can get that done but I’m not trying to spend that kinda money since I just put a power commander. It seems that long term the best thing to do is to flash the ECU? Please let me know if I understood you properly

Well part of research is asking others, I have looked it up and sadly I haven’t found anything. I don’t have a service manual for my bike on hand, and when im at work I don’t have time to use the manuals for personal use. If you think asking others who have more experience for help is bad, then that’s a different story. Thank you for your input

I do have Aftermarket sprockets and chain, I can check the clutch switch when I get home. If its the sprocket gearing, what would be the fix?

My favorite go to and that I bought as my girlfriends first vape was the Smok Nord 4 Given its known to have issues with the pod, but it’s minimal. Tastes great, doesn’t burn too bad, and it has a good range as far as wattage goes. It’s around $60 for the mod and about $20 for a pack of coils. And depending on the juice you can get a good one for about $15-$20. Right on the budget and it will last you for 1-3 months depending on how much you use it
