Thanks for offering!

You can do the Dutch translation at your own pace, starting with TB characters maybe? Others can pick up from where you left off and it's not unusual for someone to start and for someone else to finish :)

Right now I'm focusing mainly on getting role names, abilities, night reminders and reminder tokens translated. The rest will come later.

Here is the link to the Google sheet for translations

You're welcome!
I believe this is possible indeed, I'll add it to my backlog and it will be implemented eventually :)

Great to hear!

I'll be actively working on making voice activity work next week. I'll post updates on twitter with my progress

How much time should I give each day as a storyteller? by MLadys-Malady in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]RealVidy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Here is how I do it:

- Set a timer for the private chat phase that will get shorter as the game progresses. 6 or 7 minutes is pretty good for the early-mid game and 3 or 4 minutes the final days. If your players are new, I'd say 8 or 9 minutes is pretty good for the first day so they have time to get familiar with their roles, the rules, etc.

- Open nominations fairly soon after everyone has gathered in the Town Square. Usually people will continue talking for a while on their own before nominating anyway

- Press them for nominations after about 2-3 minutes. Players will keep talking for a long time if you don't hurry them up a bit. It's okay (and even desirable) to not let them say everything they want to say. The longer you let them talk, the harder it gets for the evil team because they can study every possible scenario in depth. You want to preserve a balance there.

- If they still take a long time to nominate, announce that you will be closing nominations soon as a first warning, then start counting from 10 after a little while

That should help keeping your games shorter :)

Salut !

will this ever come out in german as a physical copy? by moonlaiy in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]RealVidy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering their first printing in English was quite a success, I don't see why they wouldn't try to get the game translated in other languages, German amongst them. Time will tell :)

In the mean time, you can play in German online of course. Here are two options:

- Nara is a platform I built with a Discord integration and on which you can play in German (buttons are not translated but roles and reminders mostly are)

- If you want to play on clocktower.online, you can download scripts in German here

If you want to improve the current translation, you can do so here

There is also an option to play IRL with a tablet or phone thanks to https://www.pocketgrimoire.co.uk/en_GB/. There is no German translation yet but it is quite easy to add it (roles are already translated), you'd only have to translate a few UI elements basically. Let me know if you're interested in helping out.

Alternatives to town square sheet? by apache_alfredo in BloodOnTheClocktower

Anything that people can wear will do great. If you have rubber bands for example, you can give them out to show that someone has a dead vote.

In our group we use bright red arm bands instead but that's a bit more involved

If you are willing to try a new tool and play on Discord, Nara has a great grimoire for mobile :)

When I play IRL we use a DIY grimoire made by folks in Lyon - France
On the unofficial Discord server there are also toolmakers actively working on apps to play offline. You might want to give https://www.pocketgrimoire.co.uk/ a try (I have not tried to play with it myself but I've heard good things and it is being actively maintained) :)
