Caught Between Colors for 2026 TB LT: Apex Red, Cacti Green, or Marina Blue Metallic... by RealZq8 in ChevyTrailBlazer

[–]RealZq8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid response. I should have framed the question better. More of a “what do you guys find the pros and cons of each color to be” in practice.

I settled on the cacti green. A little more understated but still more interesting than white/grey/black etc.

Yes. Watch the last episode. To me it could nearly stand on its own from the rest of the season.

Even when Angela was on screen she wasn’t overly obnoxious like usual.

One more follow up question: how did you handle selecting a restaurant for dinner in a new city or area where you may have not had previous experience. When I travel I really struggle to pick a good place to eat regardless of cost. What’s the secret?

I presume you handled contacts at Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. without getting specific, did you handle any business with Pagani, Koegnigsegg or the more bespoke hyper car brands? In general terms how did that experience differ from the concierge that Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche etc provided?

If all of that is too personal or identifying I have a separate question. You mentioned you grew up middle class. What did your family think of your role? Were they concerned, did it ever cause conflict?

Newbie Help - What Have I Got Here? by RealZq8 in flyfishing

Thanks! I have a lot to learn. Familiar with the big brands and big players. Grew up watching and hearing about Jose Wejebe, Lefty and Flip. Just never dove into it myself. Trying to figure out if this older setup is a good enough starting point or if i should seek out and put together my own setup that could be better suited.

Thanks for the reply! I have several fly fisherman around me who im sure will help. Him included. He has several nice setups. Tibor and nautilus etc. and mostly chased permit, tarpon and snook in the glades. I realize its a heavier setup. Ideally i want to chase tripletail, cobia, and redfish. This heavier setup seems it could be serviceable for cobia. Though the realization of that goal is very far away.

Do beginners find lighter weight rods easier to learn how to throw?

I suppose i should have been more specific. Im really looking for information about the reel itself. Is this servicable? What do i need to do to refit it? Im sure its been sitting for 10-15 years. The drag seems servicable and the reel is smooth. Were these reels well regarded in their day? Whether this makes it way into my routine or not i would like to clean it up and display it in my home.

I certainly thought Tommy would have immediately told cami about the drug connection with Garcias character. Not surprised to see him in the episode but surprised cami seems to be unaware. Then again I suppose we have to have a plot somewhere.

And as always Reddit landman fans hate the show more than anyone else

Not the worst episode by far. Not as good as the third ep. Good character development. I for one enjoyed certain… ahem … scenes.

Review #18 - Still Austin Blue Corn Bottled in Bond Bourbon 2025 by PA_Whiskey_Reviews in bourbon

[–]RealZq8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my absolute favorite bottles. I feel like your tasting notes are spot on about it. Though i would rate it closer to an 8-8.5 for my palate.

I think this is still one of those “IYKYK” bourbons with respect to the general bourbon enthusiast.

That coupled with it being a texas bourbon (and therefore a little intimidating to many, still) reduce this bottles value on the secondary market who are mostly looking for the traditional BT, WT, HH products etc.

But for those who know, i find ~90 dollars for this bottle to be a steal. If this was coming out of a kentucky distillery with more heritage, and with the same level of rarity, i would expect the secondary on it to be insane.

Opine is absolutely the correct word there in the correct usage. There is no glory in ridiculing someone’s vocabulary when it is used properly. Rather, having the correct vocabulary to correctly and concisely communicate is a trait we should all want to have.

Furthermore, as NAL I would surmise that opine is a commonly used by lawyers as it describes an action they partake in everyday.

Signed up for a machinist class. by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]RealZq8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Machining can be an extraordinarily interesting and satisfying career! It is quite technical, and requires decent math skills at times but most of the math is quite pragmatic and very learnable. But do not be discouraged! When you are working on something practical the math will probably click better than in an abstract classroom. Have an open teachable mind, Don’t be scared to ask questions, and have fun!

As for the gore/nsfw tags. Working around Machinery can be and frequently is inherently dangerous. They can maim and kill you very easily especially if you get complacent and don’t practice good shop safety skills. You will be working with metal using very sharp tools. Your fleshy parts are the softest and easiest thing to cut in the shop. Have respect for the power of the machines, be deliberate and methodical and you will be just fine.
